Positive today

Normally a new manager inherits a side down on confidence, towards the bottom of the table and has to turn it around. When we get a new head coach in, we'll be in the top 6 for sure. If Viveash stays, we have an excellent coach, and a crop of senior players who I'm confident will inspire the team to get a result today.

I can actually see a similar situation to Luton when Jones left and Edwards came in, built on a strong start and got them promoted.

It's an interesting point about coming into the club in a positive position. We're not shipping stupid goals where there needs to be an emphasis on shutting the floodgates before solving attacking problems, which is often the starting point for a new manager in this league.

I'd also add that a lot of our managers in the last decade have an interesting habit of starting well with someone else's players and then tailing off with 'their' team, so if things go well then let's try having a quiet January...

I think it makes sense that managers do better with inherited players as it makes them properly assess strengths and weaknesses and set a team up accordingly.

I think when they bring their own players in they suffer a bit from confirmation bias.

Speaking of Nathan Jones, he is definitely one who should be on our radar.

Let's hope the players are even more galvanised and put in a good performance, with three valuable points to boot.
A sound response to the rat's departure.

Jones would never ever cope with managing boro, far too much pressure and fan expectation.
I think he’d actually quite suit us, weirdly enough. We’re the sort of fanbase his mentality would mesh well with, northern, working class, backs up against the wall.

Obviously this suggestion is more about sticking it to Ed Bobwards more than anything.
