The Billy in 'Cut Here' is Smith's friend Billy MacKenzie, lead singer of The Associates, who committed suicide shortly after a recent encounter which led to MacKenzie appearing in their Mint car video.

The same Billy Mackenzie of whom The Smiths song "William it was really nothing ", was about apparently.
 
It's reasonably well known that the image on the front of Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures is a visualisation of radio waves emitted by a pulsar star.

What's less well known is that in 2019 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the album's release, astronomers at Jodrell Bank Observatory pointed the radio telescope at the same pulsar to resample the emissions and create an updated version of the image.
