Postecoglou to Spurs ?

Spurs have to grow out of appointing superstar managers and then not giving them superstar budgets. In this sense, I'd argue Postecoglou is the right caliber of manager, but I have no idea if he himself is the right guy.

I think Spurs might be a bit of a poisoned chalice just now. I think of them as having overachieved in the last decade or so, and Kane has been a huge part of that. One way or another, they will lose him soon, and then they may relapse to seasons finishing 8th, 9th, and 10th, with the occasional bottom half season. That's essentially what they did for my first 25 years or so of following football.

As for Celtic being a bigger club, who cares? Certainly not any players or managers. Why should they care? Both care about what they'll be paid, where they'll be living and what competition they'll be playing in, probably in that order. Size of club is irrelevant.

Very high risk appointment by spuds. He has to cut it in a tougher scenario than proven premier league winners like mourinho and conte, and they got sacked.
Appreciate you cannot scientifically compare.
My opinion - he’ll bomb quicker than Gerrard.

Nuno Espirito Santo had PL experience and had done a good job with wolves. He hardly lasted 5 mins at Spurs. I see postecoglu lasting about as long.

It must be boring managing one of the old firm though so I understand why any manager would want to leave.

It’s a very good appointment IMO. He’s proved his worth and his won trophies wherever he’s been - as well as the adulation of the supporters of every club he’s managed - and more than deserves a chance to manage a club with the profile and resources of Spurs. How are these people supposed to do prove themselves without being given a chance.

They’ve tried the big-name blokes and they’ve absolutely bombed. Why not make a proper appointment instead. I think he’ll do well there. People have written him off for years and years and he’s always proved them wrong.

Puzzles me this one, Brendan Rodgers went undefeated his first season in the Semi Professional League, won back to back trebles and has real premier league pedigree, was a slip way from the premier league title and won the FA Cup with Leicester...why not go for Rodgers instead of Postecoglou ?

Good appointment, but they have to give him time. I'm not sure the club, or the fans, will.
I’ve been nothing but impressed with the guys drive, focus, composure and think he definitely has something about him whereby he’s got that balance of confidence, belief and can simultaneously create an environment for players to thrive but looks like he can deliver a tough message to players when required.
I think he’s one for the future is big Ang and I expect him to do well especially if he can keep Kane
