Priority points system

New season ticket holders are always ‘chasing the sun’ then..🙄

No, if they renew then they're at a minimum of 140 points every season and will be able to buy tickets for virtually every match.

The only issue is people passing on their season card to others for matches, but there's no easy way of stopping that.

I don’t get why this thread is going on. Everybody with a season ticket for 2 years that wanted a ticket got a ticket
It wasn’t intended as a moan about ticket availability. It was more the issue of people not going but buying tickets anyway for people who haven’t earned the right to priority tickets. Some people think it’s their right to buy priority tickets to sell on either at cost or for profit but that’s not what the system was intended for and it just puts tickets in the hands of people going on a one off basis ahead of some who might be more deserving.

It costs me at least £130 to attend a Boro home league game (with travel, food and ticket) - again showing the £149 is value.

No. I would just like to be able to watch the football club I support every now and then. I don't think it's a big ask. I'm not asking for "loyalty". I don't even understand what you're trying to say. You think it should be a local club for local people. Fair enough.

Sympathise with you buddy, hope with a couple of London games coming up that you can get your hands on a ticket.

People like you are no less of a fan and no less loyal because of where you live.

quite simply you go to Everton away on a Tuesday night, or Burnley away or Mansfield at home in the 2nd round of the carabao cup etc. You've cherry picked x 2 high demand fixtures. Plenty of opportunities to get your points up if you wanted to. Almost all of our away games this season have had tickets go to general sale or low priority points holders

You claim I've cherry picked but lets look at this logically, in a perfectly possible scenario where Burnley, Watford and Norwich get relegated, with Fulham, Bournemouth and Boro coming up let's look at the games:

High Demand
Arsenal
Brentford
Chelsea
Crystal Palace
Fulham
Leeds
Liverpool
Man Utd
Man City
Newcastle
Tottenham
West Ham

That's 12 games where demand would be very high

Medium Demand
Aston Villa
Everton
Leicester
Wolves

Low Demand
Bournemouth
Brighton
Southampton

If we got promoted (huge if) it would be very difficult for those with low points to get any away tickets next season and build up any kind of points history.

so what yo are saying are there are 7 games plus potential cup games to get your points up. Happy days. You are looking to create an issue where there isn't an issue. If you can find any fans who genuinely deserved tickets who haven't got them I'd be very surprised. All this nonsensical outrage on this post is hypothetical.

Because it prevents people more deserving of access to tickets.
How does it?

The only people who are missing out are those who are also not season ticket holders.

They're no more deserving than the fans who put the effort in to try and get a ticket from fans who are eligible.

Very few season ticket holders will have missed out for this match, and those who did will be first timers.

Wrong. Season ticket holders missed out on the opportunity to buy tickets against United.

Notwithstanding that, the purpose of the system was so that the person with the points could benefit from buying tickets earlier than others. Buying tickets for others just means they bank points unfairly and create a closed shop. I would’ve thought that’s obvious.

Anyone who was able to offer their season ticket to others for this match would be able to buy a ticket regardless.

There's minimal benefit to "banking" points right now.

First time season ticket holders have missed out, or those who haven't renewed since Tony Pulis was in charge.
That's their own fault.

Your crusade against season ticket priority is always daft, and it seems even more daft when there's a logical and consistent system in place.

So you agree then?

It’s an abuse of the system pure and simple. It’s not even up for discussion.
