yeah, that's correct because in any of the 8 available scenarios, if group K is a 3rd place team England will play group K and if DRC win they will be 3rd in group K (unless there is a very unlikely 6-7 goal swing between them and Portugal?)
 
Yes, slightly simpler now with only 8 combinations left!

For anyone who wants it in terms of specific results. Again, assuming England wins the group…..

DR Congo win, we 100% play them (unless miraculously they overtake Portugal in which case we play Portugal).

If DR Congo don’t win, Croatia lose and the 3rd place team in the Austria / Algeria group qualifies, we will play that 3rd place team.

All other scenarios, we play Senegal.

Round of 32 is 5pm on Wednesday if we top the group.

Midnight on Friday morning if we finish 2nd.

2:30am on Saturday morning in the match fixing situation where we finish 3rd.

Updates with last nights and this mornings results.

Germany probably the shock exist of the round. Paraguay set up very negatively but Germany where very poor, the first half was dreadful. The last three World Cups for Germany have been two group exists and now a last 32 exist. No longer the consistent team they once where. Is it petty to enjoy them lose a penalty shoot out......

I was disappointed with the Dutch. He changed his formation to stop Morocco rather than set up to beat them which surprised me, especially given how well they looked in the group games (Sweden & Tunisia).

Into the final two weeks. Final two Round of 16 games this evening before the first day without a game in what feels like a long time. The final South american hopes tonight and potential semi final opponents for England.
 
Just looking at that - it shows the difference in European infrastructure. (I think only a couple of the Morocco team played in their youth infrastructure).

If Egypt and Switzerland win it will be a very small geographical last 16 for a world cup.
