It was a terrible performance, but it's not changed much.
It's quite obvious, reading between the lines, that England were disappointed with the performance but didn't want to expend the energy needed to win the game.
It was the USMNT's cup final. They were playing for respect and had built up the game hugely over there. They were the better team and deserved to win.
However, they didn't win. And now they need to beat a resurgent Iran team after running themselves ragged for 90 vs England.
England need to do the business (not lose by 5 goals) against an equally motivated, but drained, Wales side.
