What about 2010 and 2015?
I see them as less of a missed opportunity personally. In 2010 the choice was between cuts, more cuts or what turned out to be Nick Cleggs lies. In 2015 the choice was between cut more or leave the cuts as they are. 2017 and 2019 were the years when we were actually offered a political vehicle to change the direction the country has been going in.
But having said all that, I of course agree Brown and/or Miliband would have been preferable to Cameron. The pig botherer was an absolute disgrace as PM and tbh he should be publically shamed a lot more than he is. The UN investigated our country for the number of disabled people dying due to Cameron's austerity. It's disgusting to think about. What a national embarrassment.
Fingers crossed the tories end up out on their *rses and are never allowed back. Unfortunately I have zero faith that will be what happens in practice. A high proportion of folk over about ~40 in this country are for some mad reason addicted to posh old tories telling them to strap in for hard times. It's perverse.
