Rob Edwards vs Michael Carrick

I actually posted about Edwards before we knew of Carrick, but I wouldn’t swap. We really should have gone for Pochettino when we had the chance, if you don’t ask you don’t get
 
Edwards has done a great job with players of a physical nature. We don't have those types, he couldn't have created a Luton type of team with our squad, and we have no idea if he could have had the same success with technical players.

He was the right man at the right time for Luton, but that doesn't mean he would be the right man for us.

Agreed.

I'd obviously prefer promotion, so they've got the best outcome, but Luton are not enjoyable to watch and I do genuinely think they'll come straight back down.

It's hilarious how badly Watford ****ed up this season though.
 
Edwards is clearly a great manager. Yet it's not as simple as ones got promoted.

It's laughable that Watford sacked him 😂

The whole Luton 'thing' deserves a massive amount of credit. Basically spent feck all. I imagine our loans would add up to more than they have spent in the last 5 years.

They clearly have something good going. Edwards and Jones have well punched with them. They are an example that you don't need millions to get promoted. Just like Coventry. They've spent nothing and made the final.

Which is a very difficult thing to do.

Trying to replicate the outgoing managers blueprint is very hard to achieve, but Edwards had actually improved on it slightly.

I think his work there has been really impressive
 
Edwards is a fantastic manager. He plays the way he does with those Luton players because he knows that’s the most effective way to win games. They’re a team with a bottom 6 budget.

Would I swap him for Carrick? Not really.

But I remember getting laughed at on here for wanting Edwards over Carrick at the time of us signing Carrick…
