Ross Stewart

Putting his dive last week to one side.

You have to feel for the lad, this could potentially mean that he never gets his 30k per week 3 or 4 year deal that would have set him up for life.

Hopefully it's a bad enough injury to ruin Sunderland's season but not so bad that it has a negative impact on his career.
hopefully he recovers, might work out for Sunderland as he only has a 1.5 year left on his contract and they may be able to get him to extend that come the end of the season to stop others trying to poach him, which looked like was going to happen, either him running his contract out or leaving in the summer.

I like to enjoy them blowing up in comical style, but if our destination is the play offs this season then I personally don't think it matters if they are there or not or even who are the other teams, its just mainly about being able to almost win 3 matches in a row, something we have demonstrated recently we are capable of regardless of the teams involved. I'd like to think if we did encounter Sunderland in that journey that we have taken notes and learnt more about them in that loss than we would of had we won

enjoyed seeing them go down twice as was rather funny especially when fletcher waited until they were down before he started playing well and to add to the fact it was all captured on netflix lol, but would love to see a day when all 3 of the north east teams were back in the prem, although is a tough ask to make it happen lol

Good news for him as it could've been a lot worse.

Sunderland will no doubt extend his contract by the 12 months. But hopefully he sees sense, rejects any contracts they offer him and leaves them for sweet FA in June 2024.

Glad it’s not as bad as first feared. Hope the lad makes a full recovery and **** off for a decent deal somewhere else at the first opportunity.

The dust has now settled and it’s confirmed they never brought in a striker before the deadline.

As one sunlun fan said on Twitter if they do get past Fulham then what as they’d play Leeds next.

Didn't they sign Joe Geldhart from Leeds on loan?

They signed him to replace Ellis Simms.

Then Stewart was ruled out for the season and they were scrambling to sign another, which they failed to do.

So they have fewer strikers than they did in December.

And if they do play Leeds they’ll have none

Also Geldhart isn’t a focal point type of striker like Simms or Stewart. More a forward who can play across the front.

They are severely lacking in options now

Wish him no ill will and I'm glad he isn't as bad as first thought. Great to have a rival weakened but would never wish that to be through injury or be glad someone got injured

Think I'm a rare breed of fan that would rather all NE teams do well, rather than hating everyone 😂

Do you want Newcastle to win the league cup?

I wonder whether that 15 year old will get more game time. I'd never heard of him before. They have an interesting model Sunderland atm. Seem to go for reserve players from premiership or overseas academies that have been deemed not likely to progress at their current clubs. Probably fairly cheap and on low wages. Working well for them atm. Being light up front is never good in the championship, as we know all to well prior to this year.
