Second Test - India v England

Should've done my plan, we'd still lose but would have had 2 days rest and by bowling Foakes the Indians would've have known we were taking the proverbial 😁

Can't understand how the on field umpire hasn't given that out. If he believes he hasn't hit it and its not a catch he must have thought it was LBW?

It’s not about hitting stumps.
it’s whether it hit him on pad in line with stumps and on field umpire wasn’t certain so gave him not out
India reviewed so as less than 50% of ball hitting in line decision is umpires call i.e not out.
Correct decision
Kohli now questioning Hawkeye.
Also running straight down wicket when batting earlier in day and then wagging finger at umpire when pulled up about it
He is a disgrace and should be hauled before match referee at close of play today.
Who does he think he is?

Just caught up.

Awful pitch aside, there is no excuse for our spinners to bowl the amount of pie's they did to Ashwin. On a pitch offering ridiculous amount of spin, our spinners tried to rip it more and more, completely losing the basics of line and length.

India's spinners by comparison did nothing out of the ordinary and let the pitch do the rest.

The only caveat to offer is that it's a completely different game when batsman can freely operate without scoreboard pressure.

One thing is certain though, Moeen is not at a test standard and should stick to the one day format.

Kohli is trying to combat the awful umpiring on England's calls by implying they've been hard done by. Reality is as you said, Hawkeye worked exactly as it should.

Running over the pitch probably was a genuine mistake as its not like he needs to gain any advantage, his reaction though was very poor.

Well India managed circa 300 in both which suggests you can score runs on this pitch

i think everyone has overreacted to the pitch, me included

Scoreboard pressure was removed from the game by tea on day 1, India knew they had enough and England knew they had no chance.

Everything else becomes fairly redundant once fear of losing is removed from the equation so early.

The pitch has destroyed the game as a test, however England's poor spin performance has let India score more than they should have. Otherwise this game could have been over lunch today.
