Self-obsessed and not very bright- Boro council

The area I live in always has been denied development money for that very reason. The fact it’s now receiving it is something to be happy about.

We’ve been left to rot for years, and however long or short this investment might continue is irrelevant, it’s still investment.

I live on Teesside, and want what’s best for the area. How is that selfish after years of being left behind?
And I've lived on Teesside my whole life but to bribe the folk of Hartlepool for example with the threat that it won't see any of the Ben Houchen money unless they return a Tory MP is disgraceful.

You say we've been left to rot for years but you need to remember that the Tories have been in power for 29 of the last 42.

Granted I may not be aware of everything. But what I can see with my own eyes are things happening that haven’t for generations locally.

The government spending you refer to I’m guessing is funding to local authorities which is fair enough, but only a third of their funding comes from central government so while unhelpful, the wider investment in the good things happening locally could potentially provide a brighter future for our kids and grandkids.

You say fell for the lies, I’d call it looking at the bigger picture.
Still waiting for you to tell us what these good things that Mr Preston has/is doing.

Reading your posts, you should have a decent list, lets see them, because many of us are struggling..

Not locally which is the point I'm making.

I haven't seen anything about the bribery or threats you mention, sounds like you've got some inside info there.
What's happening locally that's not been the gift of a bribing Tory government then, lets see the list that you have?

The money isn't coming from 'local' MPs or 'local' Councils, it's coming from the Government.

Are you really happy that other areas of the country are losing out on funding because of the colour of rosette their MP wears?

Regeneration in Centre Square. Boho. Over the Border area creating jobs and attracting new business. Renewable energy and Net Zero Teesside.

I really don't think you are struggling. You're just anti Andy Preston and anyone else who isn't Labour trying to put a negative slant on things you don't agree with politically, like many on here.

I'm not political and don't align myself with any party. I just want what's best for Teesside and I see good things happening, much more than has happened with Labour in these roles.

Jesus. My original point was that the reason we're receiving these things is because of the way the area has voted and probably wouldn't have with Labour seats. That's obvious.

Come on mate catch up, you're looking for an argument with someone who only wants the best for the area.

Centre square was singed up and built on the orders of Dave Budd, indeed it was almost finished when Preston was elected. Same as the netpark on the Riverside industrial estate. Preston's Boho is number 10, they copy the previous 9 that, yep you guessed it, Labour administration built, indeed the new one was developed by Dave Budds team, yes Preston tried to change it, with tall towers and even a helicopter pad on the roof- next to the pingpong table remember that?

What I asked is what is Mr Preston doing that previous mayors haven't and I'm still waiting. Indeed he hasn't actually set anything up himself other than give away land to 13 group to build on Gresham- you know, the place where one of Mr Preston's companies own lots of houses.

In May the deputy Mayor quit his job after he and some executive members of the council accused him of "consistent poor conduct and behaviour" and stating that they had "lost all confidence" in Mr Preston's leadership. Preston referred the accusations to the police and since then it has been very quiet on that front.

I wonder what - if anything - is happening about that.

You're not being totally honest there. As with most things political there's some truth which people choose to exaggerate and others like to say is BS. The truth is they have both had input but we've seen how labour try to de-rail progress just because it wasn't their idea - the airport being one.

You can get worked up and rant all you want, you have your opinions and I have mine, only one of us is after arguing about them though.

If there was an election for Mayor next week, who do you think would win? We both know the answer but obviously you'd say it's because people don't know what you do. But you've told us, and he'd still p**s it - and you know it.

Goodnight pal and cheer up. Another 3 points tomorrow (y) 🙏

Think someone with a grasp of English marked the public letter the deputy mayor sent and they're too embarrassed to follow up.
