Shame on you all re NW, really sad to see - Do you really think it's HIS squad?

We’ve signed 20 odd players since January. Do you really think he didn’t want any of them?
Most of them were loans in January to cover gaps in the squad which have now been filled with some random foreigners no one has ever heard of.
Do you think Warnock didn't want a left back or right back and wanted to spend 5million on an Argentine with no record?

We have a defensive midfielder don’t we? Because Howson certainly isn’t contributing going the other way.
I do believe he was signed as an attacking midfielder....
He's never really been played as such though....
He can do a job as a holding midfielder, but it ain't something he's brilliant at....
He's also getting a bit long in the tooth....
And why we're not at the races....

I would still love him to turn things round if he is retained. I really like him and respect what he has done over his career.
I just don't think he will and so I'd replace him with the right man now if he was available.
In Frank Lampard I think he is, so I would make the change.

There may be a number of other options I am not aware of, but the right man now would be better than waiting for that right man to still be available in the summer.

There is some mitigation, in that injuries have been disruptive, especially in defensive positions, but despite that we should be doing better going forward at least and we aren't.

The point on a defensive midfielder would hold water had we been on a good run with Morsy in the team, the truth is we weren’t and to further qualify why Warnock is culpable for our current predicament it’s obvious that he’s been able to bring at least some of his ‘own’ players in, so why hasn’t he looked at defensive midfielders as an area to reinforce knowing an injury to Morsy, before his sale, would have left us without cover in that position.

It feels like there’s a delusion at large that Warnock can improve this team given time and that things will turn around, whereas the evidence of his 40 year plus career is initial impact that builds momentum over an 18 month period and then tails off, I’m in no way knocking what he has done in his career and he did a fantastic job in his initial period at the club, but sadly we have not made progress in the last 9 months and results like Sheffield United are the exception rather than the rule, every Boro fan wants Warnock to succeed but there comes a point when faith becomes misplaced and reality bites, we’ve gone backwards in the last 12 months and the longer this continues the longer we will continue to slide.

It almost seems like self sabotage by Warnock, throwing players under the bus publicly is not something I would expect from a manager of his experience, his unwillingness to take any blame or offer any constructive solution, his reluctance to work with the DOF seems to me that Warnock is more interested in proving points than working in the best long term interests of the Club and that division allied to a sustained period of mediocre form means that I can’t see any other solution than to make changes that bring unity.

At end of day he said he not here to be struggling at the bottom at his age. So doubt he will enjoy rest of season anyways. So might as well go if we still bottom half in next 3 or 4 games after international break

Perfectly put AM.

Hmmmm......he's the manager, he picks and prepares the team for whoever team they are playing. So far this season we are all over the place, disjointed p*ss poor football, flashes of looking good but generally totally underperforming. What he's done in the previous 42 seasons has little bearing on where we find ourselves now........although I do not agree with personal insults etc.
Problem with sacking him now, who do we bring in and what's it going to achieve? Rather do a lot of work behind the scenes, take our time, allow Warnock to retire and move on.
Sack him after 11 games ; we’d be a laughing stock and rightly so….

our fans are turning into the skunks

We all know that buying and selling @ MFC seems to be group effort and has been since at least 2006. I am sure NW has an influence, but not the final decison.

One way to judge NW is would another manager have got more out of the same players.

I honestly don't know the answer, but I don't think Monk, Pulis, Woodgate would have.

do you really think we wouldn’t have more points with Pulis? I think we would.

Edit : to clarify I don’t think we would have alot more but I do think it would be more.

Well?
Do you think Neil wanted to sell Morsy & have no cover in the squad?
Absolutely NOT his fault, the current situation....
The guy is a LEGEND & football lover to boot, the people turning on him & trying to bring a sad end to a legendary career oughtta hang their heads in shame!
It's obvious he loves it here & none of this is nice at all!
Nice try, Neil.

Wind up OP surely? I am happy to feel sorry for the 3,500 loyal fans who got soaked at Hull. Happy to feel sorry for the 14,000 season ticket holders who have stuck with a bang average club for years. Happy to feel sorry for a Chairman keeping us afloat. Don’t mind Warnock - seems a genuine bloke but retained by the Chairman to do a job this season and he is miles off the pace. I do actually feel sorry for him but not because the fans have turned but because he looks like a sad old bloke who knows time has caught up with him and is trying to find any excuse possible and blame anyone he can to keep active in the game when everyone knows it’s time to give up.

Cheers for your Poat Priv

My logic is the squad available - Pulis when we finished 7th had a much bigger budget (up to twice as much cash is my guess) including :

Assombalonga
Fletcher
Braithwaite
Ayala
Clayton
Gestede
Shotton
Downing
Hugill
Friend
Besic
Flint
Obi Mikel

I thought NW did a bit better to get 10th with what he had.

Clayton wasn’t a defensive midfielder when we bought him. Good coaching, though.,,

I wish Morsy was as good as some would have you believe. He had about 3 good games for the club. We needed better when he was and we almost certianly still need better. Oh and Morsy was here from January until end of last season. We were ***** then aswell.

Good points - Payero undisclosed fee - there was mention on twitter of $5m, but it was in performance instalments etc.

Some posters are getting a bit emotional - but its shows they care which is not bad thing.
