Silence of The Rams

What a pile of mush!

So the EFL talks about the successful transfer of assets to Clowes & Co. but not a mention of the payment or transfer of liabilities!

And their hiding behind the “whilst ensuring the requirements of our Regulations and Insolvency Policy are met alongside acting in the best interests of all 72 members of the League” brings (to me at least) no comfort whatsoever!

No details on the settlements with creditors but Quantuma are delighted too.

I'm sure they are, they will be paid the millions the've squeezed out of this in full while others gets practically nothing.

They should be investigated for fraud.

Interesting to see which players they hoover up to add to their rosta today.
Itl be a baptism of fire for some of their youngsters.
On a positive note - it wont do them any harm.
Expect Max Bird and Jason Knight to do well.
Lee Buchannan might be on his way an Rams might want "compensation"! They should know all about money! *

Derby County take up Lee Buchanan transfer fight

The England under-21 international looks set to make a move overseas this summer, but whether the Rams will receive any compensation for losing the defender remains unclear

Derby County defender Lee Buchanan has agreed a deal in principle with Werder Bremen - and the Rams are fighting for compensation.

The German club announced today that the left-back is set to wrap up a move in the coming days once he completes a medical. Derby took the option to extend Buchanan’s deal by 12 months earlier this summer as part of his contract - a move that had also been backed by the Football League.

Ordinarily, that would have guaranteed Derby compensation as the player is under 24, had played for the first team and come through the club’s academy. But it has since emerged that some players have taken legal advice on their contracts that could be ripped up even though the club’s takeover has been finalised.

Now Derby have been sold to Clowes Developments, it will be in the form of a new company and is governed by legislation known as Transfer of Undertakings. Staff automatically switch to the new company but they also have the right to be told about the transfer and can object to being an employee before it happens.

That would allow a player to, in theory, have their contract terminated as it effectively becomes a resignation. Buchanan, who is represented by Quantum Sport and run by former Rams striker Marco Gabbiadini, is currently in Germany as he looks to wrap up the move.

Derby have declined to comment.

Karma, did they ever pay for that Polish player in full? the one they signed from a european club and therefore felt this was outside of the "footballing creditors" rule.

Tom Lawrence at centre of fresh transfer claim after Derby County contract expires

".....Sheffield United will invite Tom Lawrence to discuss the possibility of joining the Blades this summer, according to reports.
Lawrence is currently a free agent after his contract expired at Derby and is contemplating his next move with the Sheffield Star claiming the Blades could potentially be his next destination.
Contrary to reports, Derbyshire Live understands that Lawrence did not report back for pre-season training last week as he contemplates his next move....."

Thanks Roofie, gotta love the comments on that article👍😁

In case anyone else had missed this too:

"Ex-Man Utd ace Ravel Morrison leaves Derby after failing to agree new deal with attacker now available on free transfer"
that was the best spell of his career in england (ignoring his mexico stint), he's mad to leave there. But I guess it shows that maybe they don't have the wages to offer under their EFL approved plan, that some think

He transferred to an MLS club (Charlotte) and the transfer in April and its believed the fee went to pay off what was still owed on him. They still owe Arsenal a good few million for the polish player, Bielik who they signed for £10m.

Arsenal agreed to deffer a payment of £1.4m that was due to be paid last October whilst the club was in Administration.

A football creditor then.
