Simon Pegg

Well, it's none of your business, but I saw it on twitter, someone retweeted it, that still doesn't affect that point that I never knew who he was..
'None of my business'.
Nice one. That's me told.
Maybe don't flaunt your ignorance on a public forum then.

Just to recap before I go :

You saw it on Twitter.
You saw the retweet.
It sparked enough interest to open this thread.
You still didn't bother to find out who he is.
You then took the time to proudly claim that you don't know who he is.
And you think that is normal.

Ok.

I believe kids aren't allowed to leave school/education at 16 anymore, they have to stay in either further education or get an apprenticeship of some sort involving ongoing learning alongside practical experience. There might be another option too, but I can't remember it all, but essentially it's around keeping young people in a learning environment until a miniumum of 18. I believe the change was made a good few years back now.

As for Simon Pegg's rant 👏👍
Thought I wasn't imagining that this has been the case for years. I think English is involved as a subject as well as maths

Bubble on all you wish, my statement is still correct

"I didn't know who he is"

If your concerned about that or don't like it, then sorry for your worry.

Your statement has changed.
From being the only person who doesn't know who he is, to you didn't know who he is.
Very different meanings.
The first one is silly. The second one is fair enough if you then found out.

Well I know now, because the reasonable board members pointed out to me who he was, unlike you who; well, didn't!

Why revel in your ignorance of one of the most successful UK comedy writer / director / actor's of recent times ?

Would a "half sensible" person encourage people to "eat out to help out" during a once in a lifetime global pandemic ? Would a "half sensible" person know how to use a contactless card to pay for petrol even during a staged photo op? Would a "half sensible" person ask a homeless man whether he works in finance ?

The man is as bad as any of his predecessors, he just wears nicer clothes and is a bit younger.
LJ many thanks for taking me to task. I can only comment that its true and I've not heard of most of the stuff he has apparently done.

Whilst I may not match your standard of expected knowledge I may be part of a different generation with less interest in some things that you think are important. Hence we may have different view on where life is or ought to be

I did say half sensible - he has not yet managed the level of stupidity and misbehavior of Bonzo and he has pulled us back from quite a serious financial situation means that he has some credibility. You have selected a number of reasons why he is only half sensible and there we may have some grounds for agreement/optimism.

As we are unlikely to get a change of Government until 2024 it is about as good as we are going to get, so far as I can see. I'm not sure about his clothes - his trousers are too short for my taste but I'm told it is fashionable

It must be hard to find trousers that short when you're only 5'6" to start with. I suspect he's avoiding VAT by wearing children's clothes.

Funny Jack that had occurred to me too !

Not sure its accurate but it provides a few minutes of interesting speculation I rather suspect they may have been tailored just north of Piccadilly in London but they may not admit to it

Getting so worked up, triggered by maths. There are reams of even more vile stuff the Tories are doing to thr uk public.
