Since Carrick was appointed, we have only dropped pts in one game

per calendar month. We know his record is good, but this looks absolutely phenomenal on paper! Outrageously good. We are clearly one of the top two best teams in the league. We go up regardless of playoffs or not.

The dreaded MoTM jinx hasn’t affected Kompany this season.
That's some kind of cosmic alignment of the stars territory and surely can't happen to two managers in a season, which is why I'm happy Carrick hasn't won the poisoned thing.

Aren't nominations after 7 or 8 days after month end normally, with the winner for the previous month announced on the 9th? As if so he can win it for April and May when we finish in the autos.👍

A playoff final win would be brilliant. Redemption for when we didn't turn up against Norwich. In saying that if Vossen's volley had gone in we could be in very different situation now to what we are.

And there would be a statue of Sir Jelle outside the Riverside.

One more match and it will be half a season.

Imagine a full season like this. It would make Fulham last season look limp.
Win our next game and that's a half-season return of 53 points.

Achieve that over a full season...and as I think I mentioned before, you'd have 106 points, or equal to the greatest Championship side ever since it was rebranded, Reading in 05/06.

As another aside, doubling the 50 championship goals we've scored thus far for the full season would have us as joint third highest scorers in the second tier with Bolton in 96/97, even if we drew a blank against Hudds. If we put 3 past them that would put us level with the Fulham side of last year with 106 goals for a full season total. Should we score 4, then doubling that would have us bang level with the highest scorers full stop, Man City in 01/02.

Exilherating stuff.😁

He'll get March. Burnley have W2 D1, so even with Sunderland away on Friday 31st we can only match Middlesbrough. And they must be getting sick of giving it to Kompany by now!
Or Luton manager Edwards of course, though they have a lesser GD🤔

Wow. Another outstanding stat,

I am glad Carrick has not won MOTM yet. It is a curse! Long may it continue ha ha

If we catch Sheff Utd and go up automatically though, surely he would deserve to be awarded Manager of the Year considering our circumstances before he come in, but we know they would still likely award Kompany. After watching us at the weekend I really believe we can leap Sheff Utd. Before the game I wasn't as sure, but I have never seen Boro so good in all my time as a fan.

Michael Carrick's High Flying Boro

I'd wager that if this trend continues for one more month that could well spell promotion?

Obviously we play 7 games in April, so we'd stand to get 18 or 19 points from them and have either 85 or 86 points prior to Coventry, along with a GD that is probably hard to beat.

Of course if the trend continued for May it would either mean that we draw with or get beat by the Sky Blues in our final game mind🙄 This would place us with a final points total of 85-87 points.

85 points may not be enough. 87 points though should I feel (small margins and all that) as whilst possible of course I just don't think the Blades will get the W5 D2 L2 required with their form, remaining games, fixture pile up etc.
And I certainly can't see Luton racking up 8 wins from 8 required to reach/pass 87 either, nor Blackburn 9 wins from 9. For any other side of course that total is mathematically impossible.

Of course I could be wrong. But I think those 3 sides will top out at 86 points max...which should also be enough for us to triumph on as our GD in those circumstances of a tie on points should be superior to all 3 of those sides.

So 86 is the number I'm focussed on for the time being, which may also be in small part due to the historical significance it bears to us.
