Six Nations!!!!

It's back. Seems only a few months ago it finished.

I love the six nations me. As a rugby fan it's great when the more casual sorts fans get involved.

Any predictions? I honestly can't call this one at all. England have a a strong chance to defend their title but I reckon young France will have grown from their experiences last year. Think they will probably take it.

Although have hardly seen any rugby this season so can't judge.

Hard to predict as we havent seen them in action much. England have to be favourites but France have improved immeasurably - that said they are always unpredictable. .

I was indifferent to RU until my30's,followed the tri-nations when in NZ and caught the bug. Tough one to call as said, oddschecker have England around evens at the moment.

Obviously want England to win, but I think it's France's to lose, they have so much talent and depth in their squad (and so do England), even if they don't win it they will be a joy to watch.

I do think Scotland could have a decent tournament too and going to push for them pipping Ireland to 3rd.

I'm going;

Eng/Fra
Eng/Fra
Scotland
Ireland
Wales
Italy

The only downside of this year, usually I go skiing around the last weekend and manage to just catch the final game when I get to resort which won't be happening this year!

England will win, after making it more difficult for themselves than it really should be.

France will perform great against England, but will not be able to show the passion and commitment against the lesser sides like Wales and Scotland.

I'm really looking forward to it especially as I seem to have completely lost interest in watching any non Boro football.
I'm the same. I'll happily watch International Rugby and Cricket all day long, but I don't even watch an England Football match unless it's in a major tournament. I watched Man Utd Liverpool in the FA Cup last week and it was the first non-boro game I'd watched since Liverpool were in the World Club Cup Final and before that was probably England WC SF.

I am exactly the same, looking back I think I started to lose interest in England games when Capello was Manager, maybe down to poor squad selection, "star" players who didnt perform for England, or just the general attitude of the team.

Love watching England in World Cup and Euro's etc, but very little interest otherwise.

Love the 6N. It could go any way. That's one of the best things about the 6N.

Wales have been poor since Gatland left, but they have lost a lot of games by a very small number of points. It would not take a lot to turn things around, so I would not write them off.

Scotland have some good players at their disposal, but I cant see them winning the championship. They could still beat anyone though.

Italy would be happy to just get a single win against anyone.

I think it will be between France, Ireland and England. It may come down to the last weekend, when England travel to Ireland and France are at home v Wales. My money would be on France, but I want England to win it.

France-best they’ve been for yonks-if they keep their discipline they will win
England-good squad but Jones unsure of best team/tactics-should finish 2nd
Scotland-very good 1st 15 but back up not great-will be 3rd if main players stay fit
Ireland-top players past it-some decent replacements-will be fourth
Wales-need to start again with young players-will compete well but lose most-finish 5th
Italy-as normal will lose all 5

England have suffered some injuries to key players in the pack. There's no Sam Underhill which is a massive loss, no Make Vunipola or Joe Marler (which is massive as both play in the same position). Joe Launchbury is also out, but Courtney Lawes back which should help.

It's going to be weird without crowds as the Six Nations is so tribal. Normally away games to Ireland and Wales mean England are up against it. Very rarely in recent times have they won both of those. However, not playing in front of a Welsh or Irish crowd might work in their favour.

First up Scotland though; if the Scots play fast and get Finn Russell involved it'll be interesting.

My worry about England is Eddie Jones fascination with avoiding defeat rather than going out to win the game. England are missing a couple from the starting XI and you'd really fancy France if they continued their form from the last year in to this 6 nations. Scotland could be a surprise package. God knows what to expect from Ireland.

Not sure I follow what you say about Eddie Jones there. He's the best manager England have had since 2003. Is it the kicking style that you are referring to?
