So does this mean that we DO have money

with The payero deal done and now confirmation that we had agree around 6 mil for Muniz with flamengo.

Does this mean that that we do have money after all and all the oh we’re skint brigade are wrong.

The club has almost always had/spent good money. The only time we haven’t spent money was during Lennie’s final season and the first 12-18 months under Mowbray.

Warnock spent his money on Akpom, Morsy and Fisher. He brought a load of loans in in January.

The big earners moving on means the club has money to spend/move around. We just need to be smarter with it.

I assume it means we were skint but have freed up several million in wages with departures and new signings probably on “Covid contracts” I.e less than tbey would have otherwise been on

this, a lot of being skint is in relation to FFP rather than literally no money. Gibbo is limited in what he can put in.

Britt leaving frees up about 5mil in his annual wage and the last year of his amortised transfer fee alone. Compared to last season.

incoming fees and wages saved from Akpom and Saville

throw in the salary savings from, Fletcher, Johnson, archer, Mendez Laing plus the loan signings Bettinelli, Kebano, Bolasie and wing going out on loan.

FFP is always an issue. The empty ground and big earners. I imagine we were sailing close to it.

The fact crowds are back and the really massive earners moved on over 2 years suggest we will have more 'wiggle room'. Gibbo could have 20mil put aside for transfers but you can't spend it due to FFP (I don't think he has.. Just as an example).

Britt / Fletcher and Johnson were all Monk signings so on a few quid. Also Savs moved on and I'm sure Crooks is on a fraction of what he was getting.

That said if we do have money then throwing best part of 10mil at those two from South America would be some gamble.

Spence with zero book value going for £6m would cover amortisation for two seasons of two £6m signings on 4 year contracts. They could then have a big market value that would dwarf any outstanding amortisation. We have got used to doing things the other way round because of recruitment incompetence.
Gibson could inject £8m per season within FFP, but hasn’t for a long time. This is different to Group undertakings guaranteeing ongoing losses.
FFP and Gibsons appetite are as ADI says by far the most relevant factors

If we spend any more I am sure someone we will have to go for the same fee.

We have probably taken at least £150k/week off the wage bill (£7.5m per year) some of which we have not spent on new wages, before Payero. Plus are possibly getting payments in from players sold for significant fees in 2019/20 (Flint, Braithwaite, Randolph).
