Of the out of contract players, I would keep Johnson and Fletcher assuming we can come to a mutually acceptable settlement.

Plainly we need a keeper as neither Archer nor Bettenelli are good enough. Is Stojanovic still ours? From what little we've seen of him he looked at least as good as Bettenelli. We need competition at that position too so maybe bring in the lad from Oxford if we can.

On the strength of their recent performances I wouldn't be too upset to see the back of Howson or Saville, I'd even rather have Wing back than those two.

Big surprise to hear Wood isn’t getting a game at Crewe recently. I thought the loan would work out well and help him come back and challenge for a first team position.

I check the team sheets most weeks to see which of our loan players actually get game-time. Most were never playing, some got the odd sub appearance and Isiah Jones was the only one playing every week until he got injured several games ago. The problem is that the club do not always say when a player returns early from loan as happened with Connor Malley for instance. It was some weeks before I found out he was back with the club. Romarn Burrell might be back for all I know as he never appears in the Bradford City squad.

I said on another post I worry that the big turnover of players in the summer will make next season difficult. We are effectively back to where we have been for a number of seasons, in trying to build an effective front part of the team.

Of the January loan players I can't see a strong case for us keeping any, none have really nailed down a place.

The rebuilding will be easier given some of the big earners we be moved on, so there should be some room for new players, in a market where high demands from players and big transfer fees won't be the norm.

Will be interesting to see how Dike does today, to see if he's up to the hype around him. He's a unit, that's for sure.

Jonny , an element of truth there. My slight concern is the signings we made this season - including loans- are more than a bit hit and miss. I wonder if we really know who we should be targeting or is it a case if they’ll come we are interested?!

Seems a massive chance to take to rebuild a whole squad with a manager who has more or less said this isnt a long term project for him. If we dont go up, we are back to square 1 with a new manager and players on new/long term contracts again. Another gamble by Gibson??

Warnock quoted as saying all out of contract players he expects to go. Is this really a surprise? Britt, Fletcher, Johnson and Archer.

The players on loan it appears they could be beyond our reach financially. Bettinelli I think he has cooked his goose with a number of extremely average performances.

This news flies in the face of Neil saying he was looking at bringing in 3 signings. It certainly adds weight to those on here who claim 7-8 players was a more realistic figure needed.

It promises to be a lively close season for us, that’s for sure!

I'm surprised at Johnson.

How about bringing Harry Chapman back, he's on a free and been ripping up League One at Shrewsbury. Finally seems to be over his injuries.

I’d offload Saville, even on a free. How on earth we paid £7m for him, I’m at a loss

To be fair, it’s not his fault we paid 7mill and gave him a big contract.
Think he s a good Championship midfielder and member of the first team squad.

Could this be an opportunity for the league to impose a salary cap.
If so many clubs cut their cloth and there is a huge pool of players to choose from could the EFL say any new signings wages have to be capped at say £20,000, maybe lower, so the teams coming down couldn't just cherry pick the best players.
The very best players could earn more by getting a prem team, but very few of the players who's contracts are coming to an end are good enough for that therefore the most they can earn would be in line with the cap.
