Southampton want Braithwaite....

This guys transfers amaze me - he looked at best an ordinary Championship striker now likely to end up in the EPL after playing at Barca.

He really wasn’t, would you want to play for Pulis? Can’t blame any striker for getting out of that as quickly as possible
 
9mil and on around 35-40k a week😑

Whilst I understand we are the daft feckers who gave him that contract. It was woeful buisness. We sent him out on loan twice and I'd imagine picked up at a minimum half of his wage. The clubs he played for? Probably more than half. Then left for 'undisclosed'. So probably given away or a couple of mil.

To think we once had Rudy / Braithwaite / Bamford / Fletcher and Britt. The best part of 40mil+. I'm surprised we ain't gone under.

We now have Coburn and Watmore
who nothing (you could add Uche and Akpom for 3mil).

Absolute crazy times back then. I think we are only just recovering.

Had no fit strikers and La Liga allows clubs to sign them on emergency from other La Liga clubs, and every player in La Liga has to have a release clause.

Braithwaite was the striker with the cheapest release clause.
 
I thought he could have been good for us if he actually wanted to be here. Instead, he had the whiff of Ramierez about him, and he plainly resented being here.

I’m not sure the Championship didn’t catch him out, it’s a tough league.
