Sporar and connolly ...will not pair up again

I confidently predict we will not see that starting front line again this season.
Connolly....as first impressions go overall...underwhelming...and the elbow is an Insight into his mindset....he looked at the blackburn lad before he did it...we don't need that ..at all....
Missed 2 decent chances not getting them on target when.
Sporar...off night....I fear he's tailing off but I hope I'm.wrong...he's shown some good sniffing but it's on and off ....
As for balogan...loved him...in 10 minutes he looked very cool...skillful...class....he has to start next week...as does Duncan

As much as the players were to blame tonight wilders selection of sporar and connolly was baffling. whats worse was the length of time it took to change it when it was glaringly obvious it wast working
Yeah i was thinking the same...initially ...why wasn't it changed when it clearly clearly was misfiring...weird one...

I said on the other thread that the 2 places were watmore and Sporars to lose.
I don’t think connelly justified his start tonight and way more should be back in on Saturday. Shame because I thought connelly done ok on Saturday

Agree but Balogun needs to stop appealing for nada

Can't disagree with a single point here. Wilder admitted his fault. We'll never know if it would have ended differently if he'd hooked Connelly and Sporar, but Dear Me they were poor enough to have hooked at HT.

Trouble is when you take players on loan you guarantee the loaning club game time for the player. It’s no doubt part of the agreement and therefore we will be committed to giving Connolly plenty of opportunities as well as Balogan. In this respect the disruption of the Sporar Watmore partnership was guaranteed.

Just play Watmore. He was very mutch pivotal to the way we've been playing.

We don't have anything like him in terms of pace and more so graft. I get he's not the best finisher and can't play every game due to his knee. Yet we lose something when he's not playing.

I'd even have him in ahead of Balogun who we still don't know anything about.

It won't surprise me if he perseveres with Connolly for another few games to be honest. Think he will worry that dropping him will ruin his confidence.

He kept playing Sporar even though he wasn't scoring, and kept playing the same side when he first came in, clearly with the view that over time it would click.

I agree, they shouldn't, we lack a bit of power with those two, ones a bit tippy tappy the other is a poor mans Michael Owen looking to run off the shoulder.

Balogun would have to start next game, and I'd consider Payero too

When you have 5 strikers they have to earn their place. Connelly didn’t for me tonight.
I know there’s promised game time etc but they still have to justify the start.
it’s a great position to be in because when they score they stay in the team and others work extra hard to get in.
I just felt a little bit deflated with his performance and thought he’d be working hard and have a point to prove. He didn’t show much bite apart from smashing their lad in the face

I don't think either connelly or Sporar could have had any complaints if hooked after 60-70mins.

I was suprised as both Watmore and Balogun were warming up at HT. I'm guessing it was Wilder sending a message.

Very lightweight but at least Wilder knows that now and has options. Whilst they should have done a lot better, I did think Blackburn's defenders were generally excellent throughout.

Balogun. He’s a bit raw, trying to do his schoolyard ‘im the best’ stuff
needs a good talking to
I understand your comment 'he's a bit raw'
However can you expand on the rest, I'm genuinely intrigued to hear what 'im the best stuff' means, and what sort of 'good talking to' he needs; what justifies that?
