Still no denial from Wilder

Me neither, especially when they are servicing a huge loan to buy the club at 12% interest. If they come down, as I think they will, they will be using a fair chunk of their parachute money to service debt not the squad. Going there is madness. I could see it if an interim kept them up and him go in the summer, but then were he to do that, he gets filed under see Steve Bruce in my eyes.

I still don’t think he will go, but something is clearly not right.
Somethings up. I think we all know how this ends now

I think he's actually embarrassed about the question because he's on such a losing streak. I get the feeling he thinks that to even deny it would be flattering himself.
I think people are used to bucket-headed managers these days who love the attention but this lad isnt one of those.
I hope you’re right but what kills the attention quicker than “it’s nonsense. Next question please”?

I don't read much into it. He's clearly fuming about another woeful performance and its not high on his list of priorities.

I mean I'd love him to say...

'Burnley?'

'are you kidding me'

'it's a f*cking dump' 😂

Wasn't he installed as the bookies favourite from the off? Obviously he fits the Burnley brief (English) but it seems odd that a fairly recently appointed manager would be so high with the bookies.

I'll be gutted if he leaves, and incredibly disappointed in him.

But it's almost even more annoying if he's staying as there'll always be the suspicion that he wanted to leave now.
Even more annoying? At the moment there are too many people putting 2 and 2 together and making 5 it seems to me.

It’s not a difficult or unfair questions. He just has to say he’s not interested and is 100% committed to Boro. Unless he thinks Gibson isn’t 100% committed to him??

I think he's the best manager we've had in a long, long time, I think he's more than just a good Championship manager. We could get a replacement if we got it absolutely bang on but the club have shown more often than not that they don't get it right.
We are 9th and slipping. He isn't more than a good Championship manager.

It's clear Wilder has been tapped up, fancies being Red Adair at Burnley and now it's down to Burnley meeting Boro's compensation demands. "I just don't think there's a way out of talking about it"!! Yes, there is: "I'm not interested, end of". There, no one's talking about it; wasn't so hard, was it?
Surprised, as Wilder has been effusive about the "proper football club" of Boro, but those answers were just too evasive be draw any other conclusion. What annoys me is if the players have got wind of it, unsettling them just when they needed to be focused, united and pulling for the manager. No loyalty in football anymore.

For me it is up to the club to nip this in the bud, not Wilder. That said there needs to be an approach and if there hasn’t been what can you do. I imagine the world of the football manager is quite a tenuous one and there are so few jobs out there you need to keep all options open. He spoke about medium and long term in his interview so I think his mind is still here. I would think Burnley will want someone in place this week if they are serious about remaining in the prem so there should be some movement soon. I hope he stays but if he goes a new man will have the summer to get his ideas across.

Maybe I'm clutching at straws, but maybe he's trying to deflect any of the focus from the players - who are clearly struggling with the pressure onto something else. I suppose if he's the story then there's less focus on the players poor performances.

I don't know. I really hope he isnt going anywhere.
