Stockton Town V Oldham Athletic

Didnt Gateshead get knocked back at end of last season.....ground not good enough for football league so were denied their place in the play offs ?

The ground itself was OK, I believe it was more about backing from the council who own the ground.

Edit: Quick Google and it was because the council wouldn't guarantee them a 10 year lease.

I think they just about are unless the rules have changed. When Darlington were denied a playoff place about five years ago it wasn’t because the overall capacity as such was insufficient for National League, but because they lacked sufficient covered seats in the segregated part of the ground (which I believe they now have). And Scarborough’s ground is slightly bigger on its rated capacity. Pretty sure neither of them meet football league though. Probably not just for capacity reasons either.

Think its minimum 5k with at least 1k of that seated

Seem to remember Forest in the FA Cup whe. Clough was still there. It was a draw and replay at Ayresome we lost..

Absolutely torrential rain walking down to the city ground...go soaked that day.
I think the game I’m thinking of was a league game, Rippers and Brenda scored for us and I think Edward Sheringham scored for them (may have been Lee chapman) not sure. Was late 80s. It absolute hammered down.

Edit: must’ve been xhapman as Edward wasn’t at forest til early 90s

I didn't see this posted elsewhere, but Stockton have confirmed ticket details for the Oldham game.

300 Oldham fans, tickets only and the game will be segregated.

I see the Boro has printed the Stockton v Oldham tickets for the cup tie, Middlesbrough FC emblazoned on them. UTB UTA

The car park itself is too big for the store. There are spaces that never get filled apart from on a matchday. Even then it doesn't really have that big an impact on the parking apart from on the 1, maybe 2 dates Stockton have big games on per year. Go in before or after a Stockton match and there's loads of fans nipping in there. A fair few even go over at half time. Can't see how they couldn't have worked something out with the club. This is just going to mean more people parking on the streets round there which doesn't resolve any situation they have as people won't want to navigate all the street parked cars to get into their car park

There's a big empty car park at Grangefield Academy on Saturday afternoons. I wonder if the club could come to some arrangement with the school?

There’s space at the side and behind the store where wagons park and offload
There’ll be no such activity being undertaken on Saturday afternoon so don’t know why that couldn’t be arranged as parking
Neighbours could help out rather than be obstructive
