Streets ahead? What I’ve learned from my year with an electric car

Neighbour has an electric car. Dont know what its like to drive but he took great pleasure in informing me yesterday that it costs about 7 quid to fully charge at home, with range of over 300 miles. Meanwhile I'm paying 50+ for a tank of petrol ☹
Must be a really expensive car if ti has a range over 300 miles though. What is it?

Tell him to get solar panels installed. £7 quid is too much for home charging!

Ask the smug git when the last time he got 300 was  It probably wasn't in winter, he'd be lucky to get 250 on a long run in winter, from a quoted max WLTP range of 300. Always take 20% off for long/ winter trips.

250 is still great though, and more than anyone likely needs if they have a home charger too, around 35k is a pretty good price, the total cost of ownership on that for a new car will be very low over 3 years.
