Terrell Agyemang - Our first signing.

He likes to have all the exclusives.

It's probably something that could do with moderators just merging threads, always lots of duplicates on here and the conversation gets diluted.

Seems like Diego posted one about 10 seconds after mine, so they could easily be merged.

Not sure if he's being signed as one for the academy or as a potential first teamer.

Though the news is listed under the academy category, so that might answer that
Bit old for the academy isn't he?
U23 / Reserves maybe, but I would think he will be given the opportunity if he's good enough.

We signed Jones at a similar age, and gave him 6 months in the academy before loaning him out to Scotland.

Then the rest is obviously history.

It's a potentially interesting one, the next in our recent line of London youth signings.

Jones was in the U23s before going to Scotland, I don't think he was ever in the academy.

The U23s (now U21s) is part of the academy?
Is it? I do get a bit lost.

I always thought the academy squad is made up mainly of 16-18 yr olds.
With the Reserves/U23s being very clearly the next level up for those on the fringes of the first team. or a loan out somewhere.

Jones was in the Reserve squad with Coburn & Hackney amongst others, while the Academy squad at the time included Sonny Finch & Henry Popple.

Won't have been bought with the first team in mind, maybe not even the bench, not for next season anyway.

He's not played a professional game yet, and we hopefully wouldn't be pinning our first team on that.

Probably a development signing/ taking a small risk that he might be good enough in a year or two, which is fine.

Might have been the previous way of the viewing it, but the U21s is under the umbrella of academy football now.

Reserve football was largely abolished in professional leagues in England in 2012.

Just 5 starts and 2x 45min half games for this lad in a 26 game season for the U21's. ManCity playing a 17yr old RB ahead of him for a lot of the campaign. So not much to go on ,but it's a free , and it's his chance to take, probably competing with George Gitau for a RB slot in our U21's.
