The 9am figures not disclosed yet?

Most probably Alvez, much like flu though if you mass test you will get genuine positives. My concern is that people have started to fear covid and may continue to, even if it is relegated to "just another seasonal respitory disease".

With vaccinations, and a reduced infection to hospitalization ratio, lets get back on with life.

Hey you know you don't have to convince me mate. 😉

Just another explanation as you get to low levels like we now are I'd Imagine we will struggle to get below I'd imagine 1-3k cases a day unless we roll back testing a fair amount too.

It will be interesting to see what happens to cases when the kids go back to school on Monday although the kids will be tested twice a week. Apparently they have to be tested under supervision 3 times at school and they they can do the tests at home. I hope this helps to identify cases much quicker.

Some noise in the media today saying cases weren't declining as fast as they have been and in some areas they are increasing.

I think the sooner the focus switches to hospitalisations, as that is why we're all in lockdown, the better ........... I'm hoping that the cases that are getting reported now will not result in ICU admittances etc

Number of people in hospital steadily declining now.
Around 12k according to last report with less than 2k on a ventilator.

I heard that this morning. I’m confused as cases seem to be dropping by a decent %age. It also said cases in London are rising. Which is depressing for me. @Randy what is the source of the graph you used to post? The regional breakdown helped.

Latest figures from PHE.

Case rates in England 'falling in all age groups'

Case rates in England are continuing to fall among all age groups, Public Health England says.
The highest rate is among 30 to 39-year-olds, at 121.1 cases per 100,000 people in the seven days to 28 February. That's down week-on-week from 178.3 cases.
The rate for 20 to 29-year-olds has dropped from 161.3 to 111.3, and among 40 to 49-year-olds it is down from 148.0 to 102.0 per 100,000.
The rate for those aged 80 or over is now 65.0 cases per 100,000, which has fallen from 101.8 cases the previous week.

So I'm trying to get my head around the REACT figures. I completely understand that they say infection rates are much higher than we see in the daily figures. They are two to three weeks old as well so I can almost see how they might show that the rate of drop is levelling out because there was a bit of that for a few days in the daily figures a couple of weeks ago. But I can't see how they find that daily cases might have been rising in some parts of London. The only explanation I can think of is that there could have been proportionately more asymptomatic cases which might indicate the effect of the vaccine, perhaps?

If I had to make a guess it's delayed reporting that has caused the report this morning. Whenever there's been news re falling rates or plateuing it's always been behind the curve for as long as I can remember. A couple of weeks ago the decline line started to flatten out, but that has since started to decline at faster rates again based on the daily reporting

Where was that written, was that about London?

London is well ahead of the rest of England (on the path downwards), they only have like 58 cases per 100,000 on average, based on the last 7 days figures:

This is up to the 27th of feb, and there's been a 30% decline since then too I think. London has done well.

I heard the but about cases rising on radio x. I assume it’s on all the global radio stations (global as in the radio company not as in all the radio in the world)
