Agreed. I have a bit of a strange crush on Saga. Not ashamed to admit to that.

I watched the 3 series of the Tunnel (channel tunnel) and it was decent. A remake but same story.

Also an American version set on the US/Mexico border.

I'm guessing the nordic one was the original. I may give it a go.

Check out The Killing if you haven't already. The original Scandi Noir masterpiece.

Remakes are almost always terrible. Struggling to think of one that was better than the original. The US ones are particularly bad. Best that I can come up with is the Takashi Miike remake of the Korean film 'The Quiet Family'. He turned it in to a musical and called it 'The Happiness of the Katakuris'.

The second two seasons were nowhere near as good as the first one. Still better then most of the stuff that this country churns out though.

Edit: I was talking about The Killing there, not The Bridge.

I am just watching 4th series. Cracking series. Watched first two when they came out but only watched 3 and 4 in the last couple of weeks.

Agree after the first great series of the Killing the next 2 were nowhere near as good. The Bridge on the other hand was superb throughout all 4 series. I thought it would struggle without Martin but the replacement Danish cop was just as good.

Sofia Helin who plays Saga is brilliant, btw she got her facial scars in a cycle accident when she was younger.
She is scary at times and reminds me a bit of Noomi Rapace, who played Lisbeth in the Millennium series and Jodi Comer as Villanelle in Killing Eve. Kim Bodnier who plays Martin in the first two series of the Bridge was also in Killing Eve.

Kim Bodnia is a great actor but he seems to have pretty much disappeared recently. Used to be in practically every other Danish movie but he seems to be concentrating more on theatre these days.
