The coloured squares banners

A few days ago I posted about any banners in support of Ukraine being brought to the ground needing to be well thought out. Then I read about the coloured squares on the seats with timing on when to show them.
The BBC only showed one which I didnt understand as it was a tricolour design.

The squares seemed a really good idea as multiple messages could be shown. So is there any video of this display ?
Did it work ? - was everyone watching the clock ? Or was it snychronised in some other way

Ironically I think the Russians may have been the first to do this. I seem to remember a Bear with a falling tear at one of the Russian games events.

The tricolour band of red, white and red represents the Boro shirt.?????

Firstly, I would like to say the display looked brilliant but like many others, I was slightly disappointed that we never sent out a message of support to Ukraine.

Great work lads, please keep up the good work guys, your support is appreciated.

I was really disappointed with it.

I thought the BBC cameras were pointing at the wrong end when it was only the white band on red.

I was expecting a show for Ukraine and/or anti-Putin after the pre-match hype.

yes I thought it was the whole reason too.
We could have spelt out all sorts of messages.
Has any other club done this ? Opportunity lost Im afraid

maybe another time

If was meant to be the shirt then the sizes were all out of proportion.

This is the Boro. We support the Boro. A fan display at the Riverside Stadium should be about the Boro not about politics or Ukraine, despite the atrocities going on there. The announcement, big screen message, minutes applause was enough to show support to Ukraine, as was the donation of the gate receipts!

We were in the FA Cup Quarter finals and this was a fantastic display of colour in support of our club. Well done to RF.

Yea agree with that

You really do look too deep at these things. A group of youngsters try their bollox off, and guess what old fogies have a pop. Good luck to them this old fogey admirers your efforts.
Totally agree. Think people on this board actually feed themselves into a frenzy about how their political view points are shared among all the boro fans. MFC is a football club, not a political party. Majority of the young fans don't give 2 hoots (rightly or wrongly) about politics etc. They just love footy and supporting the boro. Amazing gesture from Gibson with the gate receipts, but it was the fans job yesterday to get behind the boro.

There`s always got to be something hasn`t there

Never F***ing happy unless having a whinge about absolutely **** all

The real F***ing problem in this world isn`t a group of our fans displaying the colours of our football club

Sorry for the swearing.

So you really had no idea what a white stripe on a red background might be symbolising at a Boro match?

It's important that we show our integrity on a world stage, and ensure that everyone in our corner of the world supports the people of Ukraine, a small gesture was important. Luckily we had the digital banner saying we stand with Ukraine

Couldn't it be looked at as the two go hand in hand? We are Boro and we support Ukraine?

I was in the South Stand for the cup game and were advised to hold out our respected colour as the teams came out and pigbag came on. That was done and the tribute to Ukraine followed so as I say 'We are Boro and support Ukraine' sorted.
