Its being reported that Trump has given permission for Ukraine to make their own Patriot missiles (Prof Gerdes + Greg Terry showed clips of him saying it). Good news for the long term if he doesn't change his mind!

yes, they did show the clip on the telegraphs ukraine daily show yesterday - trump did "joke" that he hadn't told the company involved yet....

Being funny is a huge part of his appeal imho. I was in the US for the Republican primary season in 2016 when he wiped the floor with Jeb , Ted Cruz and "little Marco". Apolitical people and people who hear his dogwhistles find him far more entertaining than any normie Republican and love that he will go after the sneering scolding liberal elite.

Agreed. I've said it before. Spellbinding at times. Learnt more about war, tactics, strategy, supply lines, ordnance, war diplomacy, etc etc than any kind of book or documentary. It's like being in live history lesson if that makes sense.

One massive thing though for me is the confirmation of a suspicion (in my naivety) I've had for a long long time that we get fed what the BBC and the Government want us to see, not always what reflects reality.

The number of time that GS has told us the polar opposite of whats reported in our media only for, days or weeks later, the media changing to the real version that GS gave us originally.

Good post I totally agree with you word for word, I still learn each time I look through the in depth explanations given. Incredible bravery against the odds.
I really did think they would have capitulated within the Putin 3 days, I think we had been conditioned to feel that the Russians were up with the latest and greatest tech and were unbeatable. Govt and dictator corruption is the Russians undoing and there heads of institutions were not as good as we were led to believe.

The Ukrainians resolve and savvy is 2nd to non, in facts its way ahead and shows the bullies the floor. They've kept going despite huge adversity. Russia muts haven't got an off ramp, who are they going to trade with be friends with be trusted by ? . The Russian people have to stand up to them at some stage (not easy I know) , as I do think they have a lot to offer the world if they get rid of the gangsters govt.

I think we have established earlier in the thread and additionally GS is not shy on Bluesky in indicating Rutte has gone Totally Mexico levels beyond any brief he would have been given - he is now in the realms of "Completely lost his marbles" & "Modern day Chamberlain"
