The grass looked too long today

Ref grass on the pitch @ Cardiff - Quite a difference compared with the Riverside pitch - the grass look quite long and thick and Carrick mentioned it was very dry.

I don't know if Cardiff wanted the grass this way, but it made it a bit more difficult to play flowing delicate football that we tend to play.

Of course the home side can alter pitches to suit themselves within the parameters of the League regulations.

I thought that, but then thought it might have been the poor quality picture you get on the Sky Sports plus channel.

It didn't help the quality of the game. The faster paced modern game is helped by improved pitches.

International Rugby is at the Millennium Stadium.

Swansea play Rugby on their football pitch, but the grass there was not as long as at Cardiff yesterday. Cardiff's looked like a thick green pile carpet.

Think Cardiff Blues play at Cardiff City at times, but it's not regular.

It is a ploy some clubs will use against us. Cardiff didn't water the pitch either which made it harder to move the ball on at pace. It makes a massive difference to clubs who get the ball down and move it quickly.

correct - they played the game with Ospreys on 1st June there, think the grass has had time to recover - they mainly use Arms Park though
