The rise of vaping at the riverside

It’s certainly on the increase in the north stand where I sit and talking to friends who site elsewhere they have said similar.

As we are now regularly enveloped in this thick sickly scented white cloud

So just what are the rules about vaping at the stadium as it’s definitely getting worse.

I mean.. less unpleasant than a flare going off.

Maybe we could have a section of dedicated heavy vapers? Two birds with one stone?

It's definitely not allowed, I've seen stewards go and tell people to stop but that's about it, seen some people get a couple of warnings in the south stand.

Most try to do it sneakily and blow it downwards to not be seen.

Definitely noticed it becoming more prevalent and see someone every match doing it. Luckily no one right next to me, I think it's a general trend everywhere as I've seen numerous people do it slyly in pubs and clubs.

Loads bringing pints up to their seats this season without being challenged.

Probably stewarding shortages, or they're prioritising stopping pitch invaders.

I’ve seen it at every game so far in the West Upper, stewards have tried stopping people who seem to think it’s allowed and then give the steward schitt for doing their job.

I have seen numerous instances of both vaping and drinking alcohol in the seats in the North Stand at every Home game this Season. I had a woman sat right in front of me vaping away and the cloud of smoke drifted straight into my face, I asked her to stop vaping in her Seat and she moved.
I have seen Stewards ignore people sat with alcohol in the stand despite only being about 6 feet away from them.
The situation is becoming worse every match and it’s about time the Stewards/MFC clamped down on it. Perhaps it’s a good thing to bring it up with Rob in the next Supporters Group meeting with MFC?

This is something Supporters Forum have recently being talking to the club about.

It's not something that actually bothers me in principle, though I'd probably change my mind if I was drenched when we score, just seems strange that so many are just openly sauntering to their seats with them now.

The irony is this was supposed to be a healthier alternative to smoking, yet we now have youngsters buying vapes because it is trendy and they want to fit in. There are concerns raised around the long term physical effects of these vapes. Non smokers like myself are powerless to stop people literally blowing a sickly scent into my face at the match or anywhere else.

Vape shops are springing up everywhere, such is the demand and popularity.
