* The Unofficial "Official" Leeds United v Middlesbrough [12/24] Match-Day Thread "

Despite rumours to the contrary, Boro`s recent results outshine the "dirty whites" by some distance. Leeds only won at Swansea with the help of an own-goal and a late winner in the 91st minute, having gone behind twice before half-time. Against Blackburn, they couldn't provide an answer to Cantwell's 22nd minute penalty, and it took them until the 82nd minute to find the back of the net - only for it to be ruled off-side. Against QPR at Elland Road, only a Piroe 95th-minute goal, against the lowly Shepard's Bush outfit, made the victory look respectable. Millwall were unfortunate to put only one past Leeds, who were given the run-round by the South Londoners and couldn't find a way through the Lion's defence.

Paddy Bamford arrives at Elland road tonight.

1733856694745.png It's TEN YEARS since Boro first took Paddy on board at The Riverside! He was only on loan for a season, made 38 appearances and scored 17 goals! He was 21 then and produced some magical performances. The dropping of the shoulder, turning opponents, scoring goals from acute angles and just strutting like a peacock after he scored.... His second spell was just as fruitful. We bought him in 2017, but his stay was short, and someone [?] decided to sell him to Leeds in 2018. He's been in and out of the squad over the seasons, but has had his spell in the Premier League with the West Riding outfit. He's scored 56 goals in 182 outings during his six years at Leeds. Now 31, he's found himself relegated to Daniel Farke`s third-choice striker. He’s in the squad today. So will he be in the starting line up or on the bench?

There's something instantly dislikeable about this rusting old 1970s style dump.
Whether it's the view-restricting stantions in various parts of the ground, or the rusting girders and leaky roof in the away corner.......or the fact it's just Elland Road?

I’m a big Clarke fan, but he is always a bit rusty when comes back in the team. Fry missing out due to this bug is disappointing. Maddo just said there has been some distancing going on, wonder if the latest covid thing is the issue or just the Norovirus bug. Either way it is frustrating and I worry with the pace of James and Gnonto in particular against Clarke. We need to stay strong for the initial Leeds onslaught.

Hmmm, think this is different to Burnley. They have won last 7 league on the trot at home scoring 2 goals 4 times and 3 goals - 3 times , keeping six clean sheets , and only conceding 1 goal to Watford. So just like in cup , great organised team defending for us needed in first half and prob not seeing much of the ball, and go for the break mometns in the 2nd. This with much difficulty in this fixture for us I see. (Sorry been watching the SW stuff on tv )
Time they tripped up and fell heavily then.

I hope to lose my betbuilder and we stuff them, make’em sick of the sight of us, we will!

Just looked at the Leeds starting team. That is a STRONG side at this level. They paid £11m for their left back, who isn’t even their first-choice left back. Ampadu, Bamford, Solomon and Piroe on the bench.
