Afternoon, hope all is well with everyone and we're all looking forward to the warmer temperatures this weekend. Also, last game of the season this weekend with the CL final and while I'm no Man City fan by any stretch of the imagination and pretty frustrated by their dodgy accounting, I'm hoping they can land the Champions League tomorrow night.

My local has this week just started serving Old Peculier on tap which can of course never be a bad thing. Won't be drinking tonight though however as keeping my powder dry for a 50th tomorrow night.

I am just about to start cooking the evening meal and the recipe asks for a teaspoon of cognac but once it is open I need to make sure it hasn't gone off. I would hate to poison anyone. So I will be sipping cognac and ginger whilst cooking.

After a period of abstinence I’m having a couple tonight.

Me and the missus were meant to be out for a meal and a couple of drinks, but the bairn has been unwell most of this week so felt it was unfair to leave her with the grand parents.

Instead we have ordered a pizza and having a few beers / wines. 4 weeks until the wedding so straight back on it tomorrow!

Started off with a Beavertown Supermoon, and now having a couple of Hazy Janes.

Will move onto Bumbu and Diet Cokes a bit later (try keep the calorie count slightly respectable) and hope our daughter is in the mood for sleeping through. She’s not redecorated her room with sick tonight, so heading in the right direction, finally!

We’ve got to sort through some of the wedding music. Think we’ll have to squeeze in Brian Fallon / The Gaslight Anthem somewhere.

We had a bottle of cheap French white wine (Florenbelle,) to accompany our evening meal that the wife likes to bring home from France with her. I think it costs around 5 euro a bottle which equates to £4.27 and it certainly isn't bad for that price.

Time for last year's summer song and don't forget your sun cream tomorrow.
