This is the protocol long been mentioned in the event of a royal death

Did you know when princess Anne appeared in court a few years ago over her dogs attacking someone and was found guilty and charged...

this was the first time a current senior member of the royal family had been on trial since Charles the firsts trial and execution 1649.

It is.
Did you know the monarch can not not commit a crime as she is in effect the law and nothing can be higher than the crown

3. The monarch retains “crown” immunity.

Not only is the reigning monarch considered completely above the law and immune from all criminal and civil actions, this immunity also extends to servants of the crown including prime minister
I’m assuming that applies just to the UK? It’ll be interesting to see what happens with ‘Randy Andy’ in the US. An unpalatable episode in the Royal Family soap opera - which has been well and truly usurped by the Megan and Harry coverage.

Yes there is an a and b list of songs that must be adhered to and nothing from queen is allowed either.

“ to alert DJs to switch to the news in the next few minutes and to play inoffensive music in the meantime. Every station, down to hospital radio, has prepared music lists made up of “Mood 2” (sad) or “Mood 1” (saddest) songs to reach for in times of sudden mourning. “If you ever hear Haunted Dancehall (Nursery Remix) by Sabres of Paradise on daytime Radio 1, turn the TV on,”
Oh no. I guess Mood 1 means wall to wall Radiohead. I hate Radiohead.

Remember when I was younger when a member of the family died my mother or nana would shut all the curtains in the house until after the funeral. Wonder if HRH is doing that in Buck Palace.

Question regarding the BBC and media is their any board members who had the coverage on all day. Not trying to be disrespectful to anyone or start another shouting match between board members. As I said earlier I put TV on at about 9:30 but switched it of at 11:30 but just wondered if people felt need/or wanted to watch all the coverage.

I put 6music on yesterday morning, it’s normally the soundtrack to my weekend, but I turned it off after half an hour as the selection of instrumentals and continuous dirge was thoroughly depressing. Fortunately I own a record player!

Not pro or anti the royals, but have sympathy when anyone passes away.

I remember having the tele on all day when Dianna died and was in a total state of shock.
This one appears to be a total overreaction by the BBC and I think it will do the cause more harm than good.

Ended yesterday about dinner time on BBC 1 and 2.

The hysteria in the wake of Diana Spencer/Windsor's death was disturbing. People just went insane and lost any rational thought processes they might have had. That is just one of the reasons this personality cult of monarchy needs to end.

Same here. It was even worse on Friday night.

One thing that has annoyed me is this 2 mins silence thing at sporting events as the minutes silence is way of marking a respectful tribute and had been used constantly so why is this 2 mins now.

is this because royals are somehow more important than us mere mortals.

One advantage (if that's the right word) of an official period of mourning is that it has an end date. It's effectively saying to the nation that, after the funeral, it's time to move on.

Posted this on another thread the other day. Obviously from 9/11
