This makes the payero move all the more baffling

I don't think Wilder fancied him in the side, he had plenty of chances to play him more and it never happened. It's not Payero that ***** me off but Swift from MK Dons not happening, they have known about the Tav situation for weeks but have let other targets slip through our hands then two training days before the start they decide to do the deal with Tav, crap timing.

I agree. It’s not like it’s some ridiculous figure we can’t say no to. It’s very strange business on our part, especially given the stance we made with Spence. We’ve know for a long time there’s been interest from Bournemouth, and known all summer they were likely to make a bid.

We might as well have kissed goodbye to any shot at promotion if we were relying on Payero being in the 1st XI.

Payero has legs and feet though. We currently have 3 first team midfielders in a side that play with 3 midfielders. One of those has been playing upfront in pre season as we don’t have strikers. We kick off season on Saturday. Nobody - nobody, can tell me we’re prepared.

I think Boyd-munce will be given a push this season so I think we'll only end up signing one midfielder.

Anc now playing for boca arguably one of the biggests club in South America.
Big club yeah but also a bit crap, it's like saying someone must be good because they play for Celtic, one of the biggest clubs in the Europe. It means nowt.

Exciting times
To be fair, it's not as if Payero got much game-time anyway as the fourth midfielder last season, we know Wilder loves consistency in terms of keeping his spine the same, so I doubt whoever's fourth choice midfielder this season will get many opportunities.

We obviously don't know what plans we have or what's going on behind the scenes but this feels like a massive blow and a kick in the nuts, just days before the season starts. The really positive vibe, even at Preston, seems to have been punctured. We haven't got the 3 forwards we desperately need (who had Forrs on their wishlist 2 weeks ago?) and our best player is leaving on the cheap, or so it would seem. The Payero project has been scrapped and we are woefully short in midfield.

I really hope there is a masterplan about to be unveiled..

Boca Juniors wanted Boyd-Munce but we wouldn’t budge, he’s getting first team opportunities.

Surprised (or maybe not) at the comments on here and twitter. You would think the club and Wilder have engineered these moves. This is simply a case of a home sick player and a player having his head turned by the thought of being on MOTD every Saturday and financially set up for life. Either that or he’s a closet Bournemouth fan. Bad timing.. absolutely but you don’t keep unhappy players who want out. Have we all forgot GR, MB etc etc…. Once heads have been turned take the money.

I watched Atletico Mineiro play two weeks ago. They were Brazilian champions last year (and like Boca, they top their Copa Libertadores group) and they would have struggled against any Championship team. I can't imagine Boca are any better.
