Thoughts on our chances next season

Down come financially burdened Burnley, Watford who'll no doubt change their manager 3 times and one half of the Yo Yo twins Norwich

Up come some decent Clubs in Rotherham and Wigan accompanied by the 'massive' club who've spent 4 years in league one

No more are Barnsley, Peterborough and Mel's EFL on strings Derby County.

How we all feeling? If we strengthen in the correct areas and back Wilder I think we have a great chance of Automatic promotion

We have made the mistake, year after year after year, of trying to get something for almost nothing by assuming loaned prem squad players make our squad better. On the whole, we have loaned in dog sh.it. To make matters worse, we are under pressure from the donor club to keep picking said dog sh.it even though it's obvious they're dog sh.it. Case in point: the little, fat dog sh.it we took from Brighton.
This is, seemingly, to save a transfer fee.
We could fill a thread with absolute shyte we have loaned in from the premier league over the last 15 years - from the current champions, a lot of the time.
Get hungry players from the academy or lower leagues, not young overpaid never-beens from the premier league.

I do agree with attitude over ability to a certain extent.

How can anyone make an informed decision when we don’t know who’s coming in and leaving
If we get a decent keeper, two forwards who know what they are signed on for which is scoring goals and keep the nucleus of the team I can't see why we can't finish top.

Burnley will go down again, Watford will do a Stoke and Norwich will probably get the playoffs or second place.

Sunderland will finish bottom half as will Wigan. Huddersfield or Forest will be strong contenders as will Luton be again I believe.

I think it depends on who we can sign.
We finished 7th. That's a slight improvement on last season's 10th.
We are not far away.
I honestly think we just need to bring in two players.
1 - A goalscorer.
2 - A goalkeeper.
That's all.
I would also like to see Josh Coburn get more games for us rather than loaned out.

Have to admit I'm not especially confident at the moment, but hopefully we make some signings that build the excitement.

The way we were playing when Wilder first arrived up until about December I really thought we were up. But some of the matches in the last few months were horrendous. I worry that quite a few of our players don't really have the stomach for the pressure of being up at the top end of the league.

I agree with most of that. I think we just need a tweek here and there. A decent keeper and I'm convinced we would have finished in the top 4 or 5. Add a decent striker to that and I think we would have managed second. However, Wilder alluded to big changes coming our way 🤷

I'm not sure about forest though. This feels like an all or nothing for them to me. If they fail to go up they're nailed on to lose their best two players, one of which is'nt really theirs. I've not been i.pressed at all by luton but like they say, 'the league table doesn't lie'.

I mean I think we'll certainly go for it. At the moment it looks like it will be a more subdued championship.. VERY TIGHT

Just taking a finger in the air guestimate of ins and outs this summer.. I think we'll lose some BIG BIG players being honest about it.. will that make for a more cohesive squad? Looking for leaders, experienced players, players that know the league, players that are more suited to Chris Wilder's style.

Joe Lumley - Karl Darlow - Newcastle
Luke Daniels - Toby Savin - Accrington Stanley
Dael Fry - Ben Gibson - Norwich
Grant Hall - Ross Sykes - Accrington Stanley
Sol Bamba - Darragh Lenihan - Blackburn
Lee Peltier - Jack Stacey - Bournemouth
Marc Bola - Harry Toffollo - Huddersfield
Jonny Howson - Gavin Kilkenny - Bournemouth
Neil Taylor - Kai Wagner - Union Philadelphia
Marcus Tavernier - Jean-Paul Boetius - Mainz 05
James Lea Siliki - Elliott Anderson - Newcastle
Andraz Sporar - Scott Twine - MK Dons
Aaron Connolly - Jordan Rhodes - Huddersfield
Folarin Balogun - Kabongo Tshimanga - Chesterfield

It looks like a massive job, a huge rebuild with what will be in reality very little money to throw at a mega no holds barred challenge.

A stronger squad overall, something more akin to a Blackburn/Huddersfield side.. hopefully with a bit more consistency to see us to an automatic promotion spot.
Do we have the extra quality in the team that saw Bournemouth over the line?

Improvements can be made across the board.. but it'll be those magic moments that we'll need to create a bit of space between us and the rest of the pack.

Playoffs for me. Perhaps controversially I think Alex Neil may get Sunderland sniffing about there too.

If Forest win the Play Off final I can see next seasons top six being:

Huddersfield
Swansea
Norwich
Middlesbrough
Sheffield United
Watford
------------------------------
West Brom
Burnley
Millwall
Luton
Sunderland

Everyone is predicting a weak Championship next season. I think it looks quite daunting.
