To Leave Sunderland

Yeah, Kante as a destroyer type back up for when we need extra legs, Neil to come on and try and dictate a game.

If we can sign a ball carrier to play alongside Morris and start majority of games it's not a bad 4 to have.

I suspect Kante may move on though, another one maybe signed for Edwards style rather than Kim.
Yes Kante hasn't really had much of a look in under Kim (admittedly was injured when Kim joined). That's a shame as of all our summer signings, he was the one I was most excited about.

Yeah, but he was on bench for around 6/7 games under Hellberg without coming on at all and then he went out on loan so either he never liked what he seen in training or he just isn't his type of midfielder.

Be interesting to see what happens in pre season.

Imagine he will be used for the early part of it at least, hopefully he can impress and show his worth.

I still think he's more likely to leave than stay.

I brought a programme from Ipswich away and Dan Neil was on the cover. When I got home and put it down next to my son he immediately turned it face down, saying he couldn't be doing with that horrible rat-faced Makem looking up at him.
My boys are the same. I try telling them we're all equal, they're from just up the road from us and there's good and bad in them, just like us. Hopefully they'll grow out of it.

Was talking to a Sunderland fan today and he really rated Dan Neil. He said he was a star of their promotion campaign but was replaced in the PL by Granit Xhaka.

Totally agree, very good player. Gave Hackney and morris a good game to be fair to him. Hopefully we’re looking at him.

As free transfers I think both Neil and Cirkin would be great signings. Both only 24, and Cirkin's injury was a broken finger? so surely it isn't too bad - He played almost every game 2 seasons ago.

Patterson would probably be too expensive.
Would you sign the 3 for 8m if they were all under contract?

Cirkin has played 105 league games in FOUR seasons, not counting the premier league season just gone (9 appearances) It's a no brainer quality wise, but we already have 1 left back with hamstrings made of cheese and a CB who will play at most 25 games a season. Signing another defender, on a likely large contract who has existing question marks over availability is not the way to go.

As one of our posters quite rightly regularly posts, availability is the best ability.

We sign healthy players and turn them into absolute wrecks.

If we start signing injury prone players I dread to think where that would end but fear it could potentially be a coroner's court!
