Today's highlights....

I love the way Jones has those dribbling tricks and speed to go past men. Reminds me of Ripley. Downing was superb but he was more about creating a yard to put in early crosses.
Downing had it when he first broke through, particularly when he had Jimmy on his case all game.

Seem to think he had a fairly bad injury? and when he came back didn't get at players as much. Arguably no less effective, but lacked a bit of the spark he had previously.

The trick and cross for the goal from Jones was class.

Brill, ta. I wasn't at the game but the highlights suggest we were the better team and unfortunate to get a deflected goal off Andy Caroll's pony tail! Brilliant cahoonas from the team to come back and win that.
The future does indeed seem bright. In the PO places and Wilder looks like he knows what he's doing! (y):) Sweet

I agree that Downing was incredibly effective, but it seemed that McClaren wanted him to be a left footed Beckham. It created loads of goals, but the energy rush of seeing a winger beat his man with a trick is just fantastic. Admittedly the winner against Steaua takes some beating though.
