Tone of adverts

Interesting difference in tone between two adverts currently running on the radio.

One from the Mayor of London which ends with "look out for yourself and each other"

And one from the government which is sinister and accusatory. Clearly trying to put the population against each other.

If anyone need proof that this is how the divisive government is trying to hide it's pandemic failures. By getting us all to blame each other.

I haven’t seen the ads in question - however for too long I have thought that the gvt have let people have far too much free will which has undoubtedly added to the problems. The fact it has come to them now pointing the finger is for me a result of the fact that vast numbers of the population cannot be trusted to do the right thing.

like I say I haven’t seen the adverts.maybe a lot is down to the gvts mishandling but they can set as many rules as they want but if the population don’t follow them then maybe it is time to get heavy handed.

They are radio adverts rather than TV. I heard them both back to back and the difference was genuinely stark. One welcoming and asking us to protect each other and one accusatory and divisive. It’s quite subtle though. If you hadn’t heard them both together the UK Gov one might have sounded normally. Shows how people can be subtlety manipulated by the media
