Posters of a certain age should be getting misty eyed right now. What was your favourite? I loved Military Planes and World Record Holders but I also had sets like 1978 World Cup that I wished I'd kept (to be honest, I wonder if they are actually still in my parents' loft?)

Had loads of these (inc. World Cup '78).
Each pack came with reward points contributing to free purchases of future packs.
I remember claiming this and being quite excited when the free pack arrived.

My favourite was a 'Monsters' pack

Yeah Ace Trumps were a different company. A bit like a slightly less interesting sibling lol.

And yes, I forgot all about the superheroes ones!

I think my World Record Holders was a freebie exclusive offer actually.
 
I remember having a Bobby Charlton football pack, introduced me to a few international legends fro before my time. I also had a cricket one, maybe selected by Mike Brearley and an Olympic Sports one. Favourite non sporting one was one about ships and I also had an F1 game. Great for getting some geeky knowledge in the pre Google age!
 
I reintroduced these to kids as it was my way of describing computer databases. I spent ages playing mass top trump games and explaining records, fields, search queries and sorting techniques using them(y)

All done using F1 cars or Military Aeroplanes - kept me entertained anyway.

I remember the smell of the cards when taking them out of the plastic card holder, more than the type of cards I had really.

Think I had super cars, some kind of superhero thing, this necromancer character thing is coming through the mists of time?
 
Yeah, I had the 1978 World Cup one.

And the military planes, ships, car ones and the superheroes.

Most of my marvel knowledge probably still comes from them since I don’t watch the films.
