Tour de France 2023 Route Reveal

Definitely a climber’s Tour and not many opportunities for Cav - if his proposed team sorts out its financial problems.

It will be nice to watch the Poulidor homage stage from his home town (where I’ve stayed a few times) to the summit of the Puy de Dôme, which I’ve only ever driven up - a weird climb.

Isnt the climb up the Puy de Dome only open sometimes to the public and then not all the way to the top?
Last time I tried to ride it it was closed, should have checked really.

I drove up decades ago, before it was closed to traffic - I believe it's now a conservation area or something of that sort. It's the reason the Tour hasn't visited since 1988. I wasn't aware that you can't even cycle up it now as it's a while since I've been down that way.

The iconic image of Poulidor and Anquetil going shoulder to shoulder on the climb.
