Just a couple of days to go before the Grand Depart in Barcelona ... what a great city to kick off in. Let's keep all Tour De France chat in this thread ... including chat about the FMTTM Velogames Tour game. There's a separate thread for the season long VELOGAMES competition and League, but there are usually people who are only really interested in the Tour de France.
The real pisser is the lack of live TV coverage for those that don't have the big TNT/Discovery sports package .... but I'll add ways to access good international coverage in this thread.

It should be the most competitive race for years with young turks like Seixas and Del Toro arriving to challenge the older order of Pog, Vingo and Evenepoel.

I just created a free login with SBS in Australia who are one of the national broadcasters. They are showing the race free to air in Australia and on their website.
Will be English commentary and only time will tell if they get around to blocking VPNs later on. Certainly works fine at the moment
 
I watched the Giro with SBS Australia. Very good coverage. It's how I plan to watch.
VRT Sporza in Belgium also good, if you don't mind Belgian commentary.

Opera browser with integrated VPNPro (£7 for a month, and much cheaper for long term sunscription) is an excellent option and I use it daily anyway. Good speeds.

yeah its really rubbish. considering it went from pretty much free on eurosport to 30 quid a month TNT
 
The opening TTT was great as a spectacle and great for this game... giving most teams a decent spread of points.
Looking forward to today's first proper stage, about to start. Nice bit of coastline and the Monjuic circuit is always a good spectacle.

It’s live on S4C if anyone wants to watch a good quality picture for free (and without VPNs etc). Commentary in Welsh of course. Stage 3 and the final 4 stages also on there.
 
TNT doing a good job of the commentary. Enjoying it. Interesting stage this. Especially with the confusion with Del Toro's bike.
 
Cracking stage finale on the Montjuic circuits. Some significant casualties... Vauquelin particularly. And what the heck has happened to Mauro Schmid. He normally excels at these punchy climbs.
 
I think there were a few riders caught out when the track narrowed and were in no position to challenge.

Great finish though and a spectacular stage into Barcelona.
