Toyosi Olusanya

I know he is actually signing for us, but do people still not understand how Wikipedia works?

Every man and their dog can edit it.

He must really impress to move up so many levels especially with only a few games played recently, a gamble but great if it comes off

Jeez, my dad is going to struggle to pronounce that.
Me too but I guess I'm probably as old or older than your dad.

I have as much a problem with Polish names.
Here where I live in Queensland we have a State government leader with the surname Palaszczuk.
Who would have thought that it's pronounced Palashay ? Certainly not me.:D

Back in the nineties my wife and I travelled around Europe in a 74 Kombi van and Poland was a nightmare for getting directions.
I gave up on finding Lodz due to all the strange looks that I was getting when asking for some directions.
I was given black looks and angry responses when asking for directions to Auschwitz.

I had my Polish workmates in stitches when I got back to Oz and telling them of my frustration with the lack of help that we received.

They told me that Lodz was pronounced more like Vudch and Auschwitz was the Germanic name given to their village of Oswiecim
and that the old geezers that I had asked would have been mightily offended that I used the German name and not asking for Ozvichim
the Polish name.

It just goes to prove that one really needs to do a bit more research before blindly heading off.🤣

It wasn't all bad news though as we came across a fabulous dish Golabki ( stuffed cabbage ) merely by just pointing at the blackboard and hoping that of
all the things on the menu that we couldn't decipher, that we would find something nice.
Success at last.(y)🤣

He doesn’t seem to have played consistent football anywhere so quite a speculative gamble I would say. Doesn’t fill me with much confidence I have to say considering he’s already 23.

Looking at his goals I'd say he got a chance, got more than a bit of Jamie Vardy about him.

He's one that looks like he could be a proper player.

If I see ‘Vardy started in non-league’ one more time!

He’s surely in the very few that cut it at this level, otherwise there’d be other names thrown alongside his.

He's one of the few to cut it at international level.

Plenty more have cut it at this level: Adomah springs to mind as a fairly recent example in our history

It's not really a gamble is it? Out of contract and we'll be paying him very little. We clearly think he's got something so will be a chance to take a closer look at him and see if he's capable of breaking into the first team.

Suppose at 23 he doesn't have as much time as a Folarin or Jones to make an impact, but feels like a similar type signing. He's not going to be starting matches is he? Unless he smashes it in training and for the u23s.

I suppose one could mention Kevin Phillips, who went from Hod carrier to Baldock Town to Watford. He didn’t do too bad out of making a pro career. Just mixing it up a bit Scrug.

Troy Deeney, Andre Grey, Michail Antonio, Charlie Austin, Chris Smalling, Yannick Bolasie.

There's 5 current players that aren't Jamie Vardy who've had decent careers after starting out in non-league.
There will be plenty more too.

If the non leagues were full of Premier league quality players, they would be getting picked off every window. It’s a speculative move with almost no risk. If he’s good enough, we might make a few million from him. If he’s not, he will drift back down the leagues. We only have to find one or two to sell on at a half decent profit and it pays for them all. In the meantime, they help us free up funds for bigger transfers elsewhere in the team. Lewis Wing might be that one. If not, maybe Jones or this guy.
