Transfer Rumours/Linked Players Very Quiet

Normally linked with a few players by now. All seems very quiet. Appreciate people are in holiday but still usually hear a few rumours.

Expect a post from havertongoodauthority or whatever he goes by these days.

I was reading earlier that Steffen's had an operation on his knee and will be out until September. Not sure if Carrick would have tried to bring him back but he was the only player to play every minute for Carrick.

I liked Steffen but there were many on here who didn't and blamed him for a few of the goals against us.

Would you have him back?

I'd definitely have him back. Good keeper, can play out from the back and seems to love being here too. What's not to like?

To be fair the last few transfer windows the club have been keeping things a bit more secretive, not been as much ITK kicking about. In all honesty it is more professional and better for the club, but I love the transfer window for the rumours, no matter how vague or outlandish.

I’m absolutely desperate for some news.

I’m predicting next week we will hear about a player who’s out of contract next month agreeing a deal with us.

I belive start of July but then again Burnley players are already back in preseason
First game is Saturday 5th August, but assume there’ll be a game on the Friday night, which will no doubt be Leeds. I think it will be another few weeks before our players report back.

The Premier League kicks off the following weekend. Burnley’s players will be shagged out by then.

I'm with you on this but many on here loved picking faults with him.

Sol Brynn will also be back and could be pushing for a place in the first team squad. If Steffen does return and is out until the end of September, do we hang on to Brynn (don't send him out on loan) and start the season with him.

Stefan improved vastly throughout the season. Would give Chuba and others a reason to stay. Would be a mega signing.

I would think Steffen would be the least likely of all the loanees to resign. Given that he is injured and has stated that he wants to move permanently from city. He'd get better wages from Germany where there's apparently interest. I won't be overly disappointed, personally.

Where did we finish? A hairs hair's breadth away from promotion and with some fantastic loan signings that we would be remiss not to try and and retain re-employ.

Zach Steffen - he said he would not be returning to Manchester City, suggesting that perhaps we would sign him permanently should we be promoted. Injured until September perhaps if we were to go back in to secure a deal.. a loan to purchase perhaps? Sol Brynn certainly impressed on loan and it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to see Brynn and Roberts start the season fighting for the number one shirt. In Middlesbrough Zach Steffen has a solid platform from which to build a possible premier league career from.
Alternate: - Caoimhín Kelleher - Liverpool - Loan

Ryan Giles - Wolves were contemplating holding onto Ryan should they have been relegated from the premier league. This did not happen and suggests than Ryan’s future lies beyond Wolverhampton Wanderers next season. An extremely effective player for us last season.. a permanent deal I think would suit all parties.
Alternate: - Ryan Manning - Swansea - Free Agent

Alex Mowett - a slow start returning from injury last season, didn’t seem to out a foot wrong once called upon and impressed towards the back end of the season. I could see West Brom wanting to retain his services next season. Possibly a move away on the cards if it means more guaranteed game time.
Alternate: - Ethan Galbraith - Man Utd - Free Agent

Aaron Ramsey - an absolute talent whose progress has been hampered by injuries another loan may well be on the cards, I doubt Aston Villa would want to let him go permanently without seeing his potential explored further. Surely we are front of the queen for another loan.. unless Leicester or Leeds blow us out of the water.
Alternate: - Jesurun Rak-Sakyi - Crystal Palace - Loan

Cameron Archer - the jewel in the crown, an absolute outstanding half season with Middlesbrough, not seen to be in Unai Emery’s plans with further reinforcements on the way. A permanent move away looks the most likely.. whether we have the funds to make that happen on more importantly if the player himself sees Middlesbrough as part of his progression route.
Alternate - Joel Piroe - Swansea - £££

Rodrigo Muniz - the fairytale signing that just didn’t work out after all the twist and turns of a dramatic soap opera. An old fashioned English style number nine yet to hit the ground running. Another loan seems less likely, perhaps his future lies away from England for the time being.
Alternate: - Josh Coburn - Middlesbrough - Maybe
Currently squad players looking for more game time, us looking to cash in on underused assets and of course the next big thing on the academy production line could be ready to drop..
Jeremy Sivi playing in the U23s as a striker of late
Bryant Bilongo impressing every time I see him (personal favourite)
Sonny Finch, Fenton John, Pharell Wills, Kamil Conteh.. Terrell Agyemang?

Hollywood returns, the hero’s journey, the story arc of redemption.. could we see Hayden Hackney or Martin Payero make an unlikely return to the spotlight? Chuba Akpom has opened our eyes to the possibility of a complete turnaround. The underdog, the unlikely lad.. I think our big signing of the summer will be a striker.. we’ve been teasing for so long and gearing up. Massively under wraps, but they might not be too far from home.

Consistency, continual improvement.. it might be a very fruitful summer. Although perhaps not as unusual and unexpected as we have seen before. Bring on the boring!

100%NO

Mon 19th Jun is start of report back for fitness assessments . Would imagine they off for a week training camp again sometime at end of that week. Proper pre season will start when they return from that.
Would like us to get our free transfers and loans in before going off to camp as I think the new lot have a chance to integrate better in that environment.
I'm not expect any players needing actual transfers and fees to arrive before late July.

I think most of our business will be loans and young players on the fridges fringes of PL squads, names we havent heard of and probably deals not done until pre-season is underway

I could always get onto my sauce and make some up for youse 👍
Go on son.

They are all on holiday so it’s the quiet period before things ramp up in late June. I’m personally enjoying forgetting about football for a short while. Out in Sicily at the moment and it is lovely. Will watch the game on Saturday but that’s all I’m bothered about.
