TV shows that should be retired…

I've probably been to double the number of matches my brother has, as he's been busy playing football to a Northern League standard for the past 15 years. Watching a game with him he sees so many things I'd never see, and so I can't imagine what someone like Shearer or Lineker see that the average fan doesn't.
You learn to watch the game different as a coach and I'm sure it's the same as a pro. You are less impressed by what a player is doing on the ball, and more impressed by what is happening near the ball and away from the ball to create space.

Although I agree with your general point that ex-pros have a far greater appreciation of the realities of the game, this doesn't seem to extend to a grasp of the laws.

The laws I'd probably agree with you, but that wasn't the posters point - he was arguing we dont need them to show us how the defence was breached, or how the midfield failed to do their jobs etc.

Anything successful that then ends up continuing forever tends to become stale and boring. If we flip the question; Are there any long running shows that are still must watch?

I'd say that proper quiz shows where they haven't tinkered too much with the format and it is mostly questions (instead of spending 45 mins of an hour asking inane background questions about the candidates so you get a maximum of 10 questions in an hour) have been able to hold their appeal like University Challenge.

I love ski Sunday and always have but man some of the recent one off stories are garbage and just make me want to switch off . Just get the downhill , super g etc on and maybe a bit of snowboarding but none of the filler rubbish …. Oh and if they can finally help me ski over ice ! 😀

Anything involving cooking , dancing, crafting and shopping.

Anything that requires celebrities to be involved.

Any spin off program, that reviews another program.

Any thing that is presented by a camp presenter. I am not being homophobic as I couldn't give a toss about their sexuality, but just dont get their sense of humour.

‘You’ on Netflix.

First couple of seasons were brilliant particularly the first, the fourth has just released and I’m not sure how much longer it can go on for. Won’t spoilt it for anyone who’s not seen it but I think the plot is starting to wear a bit thin now.

The football league show on ITV3. We will be on MOTD next season anyway so may as well cancel at the end of the season.

Controversial, but the wildlife docu's on BBC with Davey A. I've tried watching them but just seems to be same stuff re-hashed.

Please bring back 'Watch with Mother, Andy Pandy. Bill and Ben. Tales from the riverbank and the wooden tops' - essential and satisfying watching with all this stuff going on
