Vaping is rank

Vaping needs tighter regulation for lots of reasons.

I think it is minging as well, but for the sake of kids who just think it’s just like chewing gum it needs to be taken away and made harder to access! Popcorn lung allower the place in a decade.
Interesting what the aussies are doing making it prescription only. Hopefully we will follow their lead

It's just as bad as fag smoke. Having someone puffing out their gut wrenching sickly sweet lung fog in your vicinity. 🤢🤮

And some seem to think that's ok to do it near you because it's purported to be less dangerous than cigarette smoke.

Vile.
Totally agree. The perversity of it now is that people use vapes to look 'cool' Young people who probably would never have tried cigarettes now use vapes to excess. They were meant to help people to stop smoking. They are vile. There is nothing more ridiculous, and selfish, than seeing people blow out huge clouds of sickly smoke with zero consideration for others nearby.

Two people at work came into the dining room a few years ago sucking and blowing their sickly poison when myself and others were eating. They also sneakily use them at the Riverside watching the game. They believe they are exempt from the rules we all have to follow and to hell with the rest of us.

Your memory is going if you think it’s remotely as bad as smoking from a third party perspective. I used to come home from the pub feeling filthy and smelling rank. I’ve never had any lasting effects from the plumes of nonsense these people give off. Nor is there any evidence or even suggested mechanism for third party risk. It’s still selfish though.

The rest of it is objectively and empirically provable by population and epidemiological evidence. And as nicotine use via both modes continues to fall it only requires vapes to be safer not safe for it to be unambiguously a good thing. Which no one seriously doubts. It is evidently mental from a public health perspective to do what the Aussies are doing and restrict the safer alternative more.

Just come back from a designer outlet, constantly walking through plumes of chemicals, absolutely gross.

Needs to have proper regulation. If the argument is that it is to reduce people off cigarettes, then stop the dumb flavours, regulate it's use via prescriptions, put it in medicinal packaging.

Still mad to regulate it more than the more dangerous alternative though. A coherent public health strategy must be the other way round.

Personally, I would ban smokeable and lingual tobacco products immediately using vapour-based nicotine delivery systems as the justification and then progressively restrict them but I’m a bit of a health fascist.

There’s also a case for allowing a free for all subject to public space health limitations if you’re libertarian on such matters, or for restricting the former more than the latter. But it’s plain idiocy to restrict the latter more.

No vested interest in this but doesn't bother me in the slightest. Seems strange people comparing the inconvenience of the smell to smoking. I mean it may be sickly sweet but surely that's better than cigarette smoke?

Obviously if there are public health issues like passive smoking then it becomes more of an issue.
