Vaping is rank

Just come back from a designer outlet, constantly walking through plumes of chemicals, absolutely gross.

Needs to have proper regulation. If the argument is that it is to reduce people off cigarettes, then stop the dumb flavours, regulate it's use via prescriptions, put it in medicinal packaging.
Yeah they have taken that approach in Australia. They've been really strict with it but it can only smell of nicotine now.

It's a better comparison, it's more anti-social from a violence perspective, but 99.9% of pints consumed do not lead to any anti-social behaviour. I'd suggest that at least 50% of vape puffs do, as they are largely done in public. The concert tonight is a great example of just how anti-social it gets, a constant cloud from 2,000+ vapes being used in parallel in
Ask an a & e doctor which is more anti social. Excessive alcohol consumption causes more problems than the annoyance of someone vaping but we don't call for a ban on alcohol.

To many people tolerance is based on what they like not the facts

Why would you ask a doctor about anti-social behaviour? You ask a member of society

I vape, similarly to cigarette smoke nobody wants to inhale second hand smoke/vapour. It really is about good manners, don’t do anything in a confined space or at any time that others cannot escape the effects, doorways etc. it’s just plain rude.
As someone who has been responsible for dealing with violence, anti social behaviour, domestic disputes, alcohol is a factor in a high percentage of the incidents I have attended. Then again most people drink responsibly. It really is a case of living in a way that your actions don’t impact others.

I don't disagree with any of this, nor, really, should anyone else.

If people want vape free environments then those establishments will have to enforce it, or their customer base will go elsewhere. Football stadiums are probably an exception to this, you can't watch boro anywhere else but where they are playing. The club should really cater to the majoritgy and enforce the vaping ban.

They should, as should shopping centres, public transport wtc

I absolutely agree, as I said, people are hemmed in so it’s improper to do it. Additionally, the match day is becoming a more family oriented event, certainly more so than when I started going, so there are children at the match, they certainly don’t need to be breathing in second hand anything.

It's improper because there is a rule that forbids it. Plenty of pubs do allow vaping. You paid your money and makes your choice.

It's down to those individual places to decide what their policy is and either enforce it or not to bother.

I don't know if it's generally banned in indoor places. Some have signs regulating vaping. Some don't. A no smoking sign is open to interpretation.

There doesn't seem to be a general ban on vaping indoors that is understood nor regulated. .

An honours degree in hindsight would have been useful ;)
Really? It should have been pretty obvious that you don’t put anything in your body unless you know what it is and if it’s harmful.

The medical profession knew for decades how harmful it was, but the people making money off it lied on a grand scale and the people addicted to it lied to themselves and others…here we are again with them self regulating about how it’s not unhealthy

Vapes are a potential breeding ground for deadly diseases such as Covid, Sars, Smallpox, Chickenpox, Mumps and Ricin etc and provide a perfect distruction centre to those close by from people breathing it out.

The next deadly pandemic will be spread much quicker than Covid due to vaping in public.

Sorry mate this sounds like bolox

Vaping got me off smoking, incredibly easy compared to other methods, so whilst actual cigarettes are on sale then they need to keep the vaping rules relatively relaxed in comparison or increase the rules on cigarettes. There are rules in place which are fairly adequate for vaping, but they're not particularly well enforced.

As for kids, they're banned for anyone under 18, and stopping the under 18's getting their hands on them and using them should be enforced much stronger, but at the end of the day they almost certainly do a hell of a lot less damage than sweets and booze, never mind cigarettes.

The big problem the UK has at the minute for health is obesity (for kids and older folk), it would seem a bit odd to go after vaping without going after sweets, junk food and booze first, which all significantly contribute to this. Cigarettes should have been fully banned at least 5 years ago, since vaping took off etc.

As for people vaping in public places where it's banned, the key thing here is it's banned, it's banned in the boro ground I think, but they largely don't enforce it. I've never vaped in the ground, and neither has anyone I've gone to the match with. Now I think about it, I don't think I've actually seen a massive amount of vaping (compared to the number of expected vapers), apart from the odd person, but they stand out a mile and should be easy to chuck out, so just chuck them out? We just go outside at half-time, like the 99% of others who smoke or vape. Same for in pubs etc, it's rare to find one where you can vape, but even then I still go outside. I don't think anyone would be that bothered if they were banned in all pubs, and all internal places (which offer no segregation) and doorways/ high foot traffic areas etc.

As for making vapes taste foul or like cigarettes, there would be little point in this. Vaping isn't the same hit as smoking, so you sort of need something extra and it really helps get off the cigarettes and I now I absolutely can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke, due to this. To be honest one thing I hate now is having to use the same place to vape as which smokers do.
