Vieira and Everton fan

Pitch invasions have been happening for years, as long as I can remember, and 99.999% of them were simply harmless tomfoolery. Not now. Players and managers/staff being verbally and physically abused while trying to get off the pitch is bang out of order and now dangerous. The authorities need to act NOW to stop it but sadly all I can see is two things 1. The authorities don't do anything and sit on their hands, something more serious happens or 2. There is an enormous 80s like crackdown on ALL fans which means the matchday experience becomes completely unenjoyable. Can see the minority spoiling it for the majority, again. Sad as football has come a long, long way since the 80s. ☹️

That is the key difference. I don't agree with any pitch invasion but the ones recently have shown a really worrying trend. A friend of mine is a League One and Two referee. He mentioned that this season has seen someone running onto the pitch most games. He's also noticed a change of fan behaviour that is creating a more aggressive atmosphere at times.

Immediate 25 point penalty for a mass invasion at a league game. Loss of tie if in a cup or playoff with other side awarded tie. If losing side fans invade, penalty carried to next season league or cup I.e. start on -25 or banned from that cup for a season.

If fans invade the pitch then they deserve everything they get, if that includes a punch, headbutt, stamp, kick then that's just tough luck.

I can see capacity reductions being brought in so that the first 5? Maybe? rows of seats have to be empty, combine that with fixed cameras facing the crowd and massive advertising on social media to say anyone caught entering the pitch gets a 50k fine and a lifetime ban. Fine and ban to transfer to legal guardian if a kid gets on the pitch.

Like I said, the "innocent" end of season pitch invasion has happened as long as I can remember, all going off without incident. But now, as mentioned, these are replicating society and are becoming dangerous. Definitely more aggressive and the good natured high jinks element has gone. What to do, I think is a bigger problem. All ties in with the bad, antisocial behaviour which has returned. ☹️

CCTV even shows yobs walking round post match on the pitch carrying flares !!

Why does anyone carry flares around on the way to a match........most grounds, if not all, have signs up listing what objects are banned, including flares !

The only problem with a points deduction is fans will abuse that and say attend a relegation rivals ground and invade the pitch to try and deduct them points. Seems extreme but no doubt it would happen.

There is a real culture/trend at the moment for fans to show how they are so much more passionate than other fans. You see on all the social media football pages, which set of fans can buy the most Jagers pre match, who can get the most Stone Island badges in one picture, flares every game and now its pitch invasions at any given opportunity.

The play offs it had to be expected that the winning team if at home would invade in the pitch. It needs police right around the pitch and perhaps police dogs as well. Stewards are not paid enough to even consider getting into an altercation. Hopefully it passes but usually they only pass when somebody goes to far or something nasty happens.

Switch the sprinklers on

I don't actually think pitch invasions are the problem necessarily, it's the behaviour of some of the people once they do. It should be celebratary, without the urge to intimidate, or assault anyone. The cause of that behaviour is almost always due to too much drink/drugs and too little intelligence.

Trying to stop them is not only very expensive, but extremely difficult too.

It should be mandated that any new stadium has measures in place to prevent fans encroaching, be that a moat or something similar.
You can't police it when it is a huge number and therefore I'd make it abundantly clear that mass encroachment would lead to the game immediately being forfeit and a further penalty such as an immediate 10 point deduction. It'd hopefully stop mass invasions after winning cup ties, relegation or promotion deciders, playoff games and most last home game of the season 'celebrations'.
It's clear that some people can't control themselves and invading the pitch is the main reason they go to these games.

Ring the pitch with a ditch filled with sharks with lasers on their heads.

Seriously clubs need to identify just a few of the invaders and issue banning orders (I bet quite a few are ST holders) invalidate the ticket no refund. Anyone being violent on the pitch should also end up in court and punished the same as they would be for assault in the street.

Fair play to Vieira for not lamping him and breaking his face. Would have been very easy to react heavily.

The fan needs penalising.

Absolute scum.

Vieria is a unit, why on earth would you goad him (unless you're Roy Keane)? Not wanting to detract from the seriousness of the issue, but it was quite hilarious how easily he decked the scrote.

Blanket ban on pitch invasions. Lifetime ban for anyone who tries to get on the pitch regardless of circumstances.

Not sure if it's already been mentioned but the footage of the delightful woman slapping the ar5e of the Palace player whilst she and her darling chrerub of a son/grandson/devils seed scream abuse at him is also bang out of order. If he'd turned round and shoved the woman there would be hell on. Just because it's a middle aged woman it doesn't lessen the offence. No way should any spectator be allowed to touch any player/coach/ref .. if they do then out you go and don't come back.

That clip is hilarious, I think the four of them might be together, from the old bloke on the left to Pumba off the lion King on the right.

I Know it's a serious subject but you need a bit of light relief.
