Was Coburn really made the Captain?

I have just watched the tweet where he puts on the armband , was that for real ? Reasons if so ? Time or he really is that good.

As nice as it is for the lad, it was because Howson came off for him and there was no time before the set piece to sort it out. Next break in play it got passed on, good for him though, he can always say he was Boro captain.

Howson was coming off, late in the game, handed the band to his replacement.

He wore it for the corner to speed things up, then for the restart he passed it to crooks I think who went to put it on then realised and passed it to paddy McNair
