We’re in the mix now

Going into the extended World Cup break we are nicely positioned in the league in mid table but as close to the top 6 as we are to the bottom three.

What would have all given for that a few weeks ago.

We had done people on here writing the season off in October.

Now we have 6 or so weeks to evaluate the entire squad and look for the next acedeny gems and then build a platform to mount a challenge on the top 6.

Happy days.

In one month we’ve gone from being

The team everyone will have wanted to play as just roll over

To being the side no one will want to play now. That win yesterday and performance was a huge calling card to the rest of the league. Yes we can go to Norwich back yard go a goal down and still win.

That’s huge.

I loved carrick interview at half time we were a goal down but we knew if kept plugging away stick to the game plan we could still win ( not draw) this -

that’s Man U mentality that we are never beaten until the final whistle.

Just to play devils advocate Jedi

I posted on another thread that each result makes Wilders job at our club look worse, we did play well, scored goals & won some big games

The concern for me mind, is the amazing turnaround down to MC, JW or the players who were fed up with Wilders, alleged, calling players out, down tools & refused to go the extra mile for him, player power, yet as soon as Carrick walked through the door the mood in the camp lifted, players resumed their game plan & we're now seeing the results

Think its a bit of both

I think it is a bit of both too, the players confidence was shattered through poor man management, that was clear, they didn’t believe in the system and for me the end result was they didn’t want to play for that manager any longer, the situation was beyond repair and arrived at it’s natural conclusion, but we can’t underestimate either the job that Carrick and Woodgate are doing, it is not necessarily the case of any manager just coming in and getting an automatic lift, they are doing the hard yards, getting the belief back, playing to our strengths, and turning things round quickly, it is no mean feet.

Agree 100% holgate

Carrick has also completely changed our tactics and mentality mid season with little to no training time. That in itself is remarkable.

Joint lowest points tally for the team in 6th at this point of the season since the Championship rebrand, which helps us.

They'd usually be 2-3 points better off after 20 games.

Millwall's game in hand is against Sunderland though, not sure I want them to drop points in that.
