Nosmo, I look in from time to time because, as stated earlier, several of them troll my other social media accounts with abuse. Also, as previously stated, I've had long-standing issues with the now-disappeared 'Bernie' character, who over a period of years contacted several companies in my name trying to order goods fraudulently, giving a work email address which he thought was for my employer (I'm not employed by anyone). The last time I looked on the site before this week, I was interested to read a grovelling apology from him for his general conduct on social media just before he fled, fearing police action for the awful thread he started about Yusuf.

I'm sure some of the posters there are decent blokes, but if the place ceased to exist at all, I'd miss it like the Boro missed Peter Davenport.

Other than folk 'checking it out' from time to time for the purpose of ensuring their own personal security who do you know on this board who visit it for the sole purpose of wanting to be offended?

You are exaggerating.

Many posters were inquisitive and clicked on the link to find out what was going on.
That would have been the only time that I, and others, have visited the CoB messageboard.
Yet you continue to be baffled that people would visit the site knowing that they were going to be horrified which is not the case at all.
Stop trying to create division like you did in your Woodgate haters thread yesterday.
 
The reason I occasionally visit is to expose myself to alternative views which I think is important. Simple as that really.

The fact you think the majority of posters are "hard left" puts a large question mark over your reading of the board's political leanings. As one of the few harder-left posters I'd plonk the board firmly in the 'very-soft-left to centrist' category.

I posted on another "let's have a politics board" the other day that there were 5 out of 50 threads about politics. It's not overwhelming and they can be ignored if you have no care for them.

If you want to start a thread about the keeper then feel free. If people want to join in they will. If they don't they won't.

Personally, I prefer more general football threads rather than anything about specific players or even one's JUST about the boro (in isolation). I tend to read but don't reply on the Boro history threads as I find them interesting but rarely have anything of worth to add. I'll try to remember to like the OP in each case so they know they're valued.

It's always been a general interest board with a Boro slant.

I think you're using the board wrong. If the thread is titled "Brexit" or "Boris Johnson" then there isn't going to be any football chat.

Try clicking on one of the many threads that sounds like it's about football instead (Eg "Bettinelli"), thus saving yourself a job of "wading through" the political stuff to find the football posts.

This thread is a good example of why this board works so well. A point of view which can be discussed, debated and argued over with, ultimately, respect from all sides. And humour, too.
I've not visited COB until now and I won't be going there again. What a waste of time.
